Necha School Volunteer Program (25 days) Book Now

Necha School Volunteer Program is run in Government Primary Schools in Solukhumbhu. The volunteers will work in the schools and organize various enjoyable and creative activities for the children to sharpen their talents and increase their knowledge. Apart from that they will coordinate with school head teacher for other physical and infrastructure support. In two weeks program our volunteers work continuously to explore the hidden talents in the children and to promote them. The volunteers will assist in a wide variety of chosen subjects and activities, including English, Mathematics, Arts and Sports. Since volunteer activities are organized in Government Schools where acute shortage of teachers exists, the volunteers are therefore expected to focus mainly on the syllabus being taught in the Schools. Apart from teaching, volunteers can take teach them the importance of sports and conduct extra-curricular activities within school and coordinate with school head teacher for other physical and infrastructure support. Volunteers are also welcome to bring educational material for the kids such as stationary, books etc.

English teaching is not available in mid of June to mid of July due to monsoon vacations in schools.

Difficulty:

Moderate to difficult with continuous descend down of about 8 hours within one day. Season: August to May (Being in the foothills of the Mt. Everest, this trek could be done throughout the winter).

Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu - 1,300m/4,264 ft.

Upon your arrival in the Kathmandu airport, our representative will meet greet and welcome you and transfer you to your confirmed hotel. You can rest relax and enjoy your time in the hotel or you can stroll around the city. Overnight Hotel.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu.

After Breakfast, the guided full day sightseeing starts around Kathmandu. Here you can feast your eyes on the rich and colorful history of the country. The tour includes Kathmandu Durbar Square- houses the old royal palace of the Kathmandu kingdom,Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple- swarming with monkeys), Pashupatinath- one of the most significant Hindu temple of Lord Shiva in the world, Boudha Stupa- one of the holiest Buddhist sites in Kathmandu. You will be able to observe the country in its original status. From the top of the SwayambhuNath Temple to the fluttering of colorful prayer flags at Boudha Stupa, you will be able to feel the way of life of the people living in Kathmandu Valley. Overnight at Hotel.

Day-3 Kathmandu to Patale.

In the Early morning, you will leave Kathmandu and commence your trip. You will have your breakfast in Dhulikhel. After breakfast you will continue your drive to reach Patale. Overnight at local lodge in Patale.

Day- 4 Patale –Gairi(Hiking distance) - 5 hours.

You wake up early morning to see spectacular views of mountains including Mt. Everest (highest peak in the world) .After having breakfast in Patale, early morning you're hiking to Gairi starts. You will walk through the remote geography and with scenic environment. The overall hiking takes about 5 hours to reach Gairi. After lunch you will be interacting with local school. Overnight at House stay in Gairi.

Day-5 Gairi to Necha Hiking distance- 4 hours.

You will have breakfast in Gairi and commence walking to reach Necha. A typical village located in the foot of the Everest Region. Once you reach Necha, you can enjoy the pure village environment with traditional culture. Welcome ceremony and introduction by School head teacher and staffs .Overnight at homestay.

Day (6- 20) –Volunteer in School

Day 21 - Necha -Tuintaar

Hurray! This day is full of fun .After having breakfast at home stay .you will be walking down hills to the river where you can enjoy fishing in traditional way .This day will be spent in home stay.

Day 17- Tuintaar-Fishing Day

This day is fun roaming around the surrounding and the small hydro power being built. Enjoy the fish and after having lunch you will be returning back to Necha Community Hospital.Overnight at hospital quarter or tent.

Day 22- Tuintaar-Fishing Day

This day is fun roaming around the surrounding and the small hydro power being built. Enjoy the fish and after having lunch you will be returning back to homestay in Necha.Overnight at homestay or tent.

Day 23- Necha to Rumjhatar: Hikking distance-7 hours.

After having Breakfast in the beautiful village, you will commence your trek to reach Rumjhatar via Chisapani.You will start with uphills and then down hills to reached Rumjhatar.On the way you will be pass through the some small villages of Rai and Sherpa culture as well as enjoy the views of beautiful view of mountains and landscapes. Overnight at local /lodge in Rumjhatar.

Day-24- Drive Rumjhatar- Okhaldhunga to Kathmandu.Driving distance 8 to 9 hours.

After Breakfast in Rumjhatar,you will commence drive to reach Okhaldunga. You can see the beautiful sceneries and country side environment of the country throughout the drive.Overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu. You will be notifying for the token of love with appreciation letter.

Day -25 Transfer to the airport for your final departure.
