Combining the best of nature with some typical local life, gorgeous Himalayan views, captivating sunset and ethereal sunrise from Chisapani and Nagarkot, this hike makes for an ideal vacation in a matter of three days. The trip starts with a short drive to Sundarijal, a popular hangout and busy picnic spot in the north of Kathmandu. Falling inside the boundaries of Shivapuri National Park, this is a place of cool shades, tall trees, beautiful streams and serene atmosphere — all in striking contrast to the noise and crowd of the city.

Your guide will be a Nepalese but fluent in English. They are carefully selected with the appropriate experience, attitude and leadership skills. We can also provide French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Spanish speaking guides.

The tourist police office is located near Nepal Tourism Development Board’s office.They are well trained and fluent in English to assist foreigners. You can always call 100 for police assistance.
In the morning, our guide will receive you from your hotel and then travel to Sundarijal from Thamel. From Sundarijal, you will start your hiking with your guide. On the way from Sundarijal, you can view the waterfalls and dense forest and enjoy along the trail. From Sundarijal, the hike is mostly uphill but nature and scene will make you forget the pain and hence arrive at Chisapani. Chisapani is a Sherpa village, offering grand views of the mountains. Relieve yourself in the evening by watching a picturesque sunset from the village Overnight in hotel/lodge at Chisapani.
In the early morning, you can observe the sunrise from Chisapani. Afterward, you will again start your hiking to Nagarkot, a hilltop to the east of Kathmandu which offers unmatched scenery of innumerable peaks along a large section of the Himalayas. Surely the setting sun fires your spirit and inspires your imagination with the shades of color it leaves on the Himalayas. It takes about 6-7 hours of hiking to Nagarkot. As soon as we get to the Nagarkot around 2 PM you will have some time to rest and relax at the hotel. After rest, get ready for the excursions of the Nagarkot area for about 2 hours. Watch the magnificent sunset view from Nagarkot and then get back to the hotel. Overnight in hotel.
In the early morning, you can also observe the sunrise from Nagarkot. Then, you will continue your hiking towards Sankhu via Changunarayan. The trails continue to Telkot and then to Changunarayan. Changunarayan is situated at the end of a long ridge which runs well into the valley, it is said to have been built in 323 AD by King Hari Datta Varma. The temple, famous for its architecture is richly decorated with wooden and metal sculptures and carvings. It is said to be the oldest temple in the valley. You can enjoy the views of Sankhu village to the right and Bhaktapur city to the left. From Changunarayan, you will move towards Sankhu and back to Kathmandu in private vehicle.
