The Langtang valley, also known as “valley of glaciers” offers an abundance of wildlife, rich cultural and historical importance. Couple this with picturesque scenery such as pine forests, swift mountain streams, rugged rocks and mountains rising up; it is bound to be a unique experience.
During this trek, you will understand the history of the Tibetan ancestry and their way of living, agriculture, and trade. After the massive earthquake in 2015, most of the Langtang valley was destroyed and now they are making a comeback as you can see the warm and gentle smile while welcoming you. You can enjoy not only the colorful dresses of the people but also the blooming rhododendron forests, birds, and butterflies.
The trek starts with a drive from Kathmandu to Syabru besi. From there you will start to trek to reach Chilime, Nagtahli, Thuman, Briddhim, Lama Hotel, Langtang Village and Kyanjin before coming back through Lama Hotel and Syabr besi to drive back to Kathmandu. During the trek you will explore the Gatlang valley, visit Ghoda Tabela (horse stable) and visit the viewpoint in Tserko Ri.

When you reach the village of Ranipauwa, you can view the Annapurna Mountain range in the west and Langtang Mountain range in the east. Following the Trishuli River and touring over rough roads, the road guides you into the Langtang National Park where you will immediately notice the remoteness of the human settlement at a high altitude. Nagthali was once used as a popular meditation center for the local monks and priests. Overnight accommodation will be in a local lodge.
We start the day with a descending walk, for about an hour, to reach Thuman. Thuman is one of the Tamang villages which is heavily influenced by the Tibetan culture. The people here are friendly and love to sing and dance. Later on, we continue walking through rhododendron forests and meadows towards Briddim, another Tibetan influenced Tamang community on the lap of Langtang Himal. The trail to Briddhim in springtime is beautiful as the whole rhododendron forest blooms. In Briddhim, enjoy the traditional local cuisines and take part in cultural practices.
