The Langtang valley, also known as “valley of glaciers” offers an abundance of wildlife, extremely rich cultural and historical experience. Couple this with picturesque scenery such as pine forests, swift mountain streams, rugged rock and mountains rising up; it is bound to be a unique experience.
By this trek you will understand the history of the Tibetan ancestry and their way of living, agriculture and trade. This trail is newly developed leaving the tradition virtually untouched. Driving duration: 7/8 hours
Have your breakfast in the morning and then you will be heading towards Syabrubesi. You will drive throught the road which twist and turn along the high hills through remote villages and along the Trishuli river and then touring over rough roads. The road guides you into the Langtang National Park where you will immediately notice the remoteness of the human settlement at higher altitude. As you reach Syabru, you will have your lunch here and after sometime, you will start walking to the beautiful village of Langtang region "Gatlang". You will follow the trail around the valley and ascending up to a view point which offers beautiful views of the Ganesh Himal, Goljang valley and the Gosaikunda range. As you descend and walk through the valley of Gatlang, you will pass by a lake and an apple farm. After your arrival in the village of Gatlang you can get refreshed, get acquainted with the friendly Buddhists, and be introduced to the local Syabru dance. While trekking you will get to experience the Tamang culture. Overnight in Syabru Besi.
Day 2: Syabrubesi to Gatlang (2238m)
Hiking duration: 6 hours
After breakfast at your teahouse, your trek ascends up to the view point; from where we can see the fantastic view of Goljang valley with Ganesh Himal and Gosaikunda range. Then the trail descends down to the Goljang where you stop for your hot Lunch. The beautiful Tamang village is another 3 hrs walk from Goljang where you stop for overnight at the lodge. Upon arrival to the Gatlang you will get very warm welcomed by local villagers. Gatlang is a small village on the hillside with the traditional stone houses. Get refreshed and explores the surrounding village area and enjoy the local Syabru dance. Overnight in Gatlang.
Hiking duration: 6/7 hours
After having breakfast in the lodge in Gatlang, your trek starts. Today, you will feel the difficulty while walking throughout the day as the trek starts off by descending to Thangbuchet (near Chilime village) by the Bhotekoshi River. The trail goes along the Bhotekoshi River, passing the villages, and then ascends until you arrive in Tatopani where you will be staying for the night. Chilime Hydropower is one of the attractions there. Tatopani literally means ‘Hot water’. Here, you can relax in the natural hot springs which is believed to have healing properties. Overnight in Tatopani.

Today, you will continue walking to another Tibetan influenced Tamang community, "Briddhim". As the first phase of trekking, you will descend down to Thuman. You might encounter with the herds of Nepali Gray Langur(Monkeys). At Thuman, you will see the ancient monasteries and houses adorned with rich wood engravings. You can have your lunch in Thuman and continue walking through rhododendron forests and meadows towards Bridim, another Tibetan influenced Tamang community on the lap of Langtang Himal. This is your destination for today. Here, you will see other trekkers trekking on Langtang Trail. Overnight in Briddhim.
Hiking duration: 4/5 hours
Today, you will have your breakfast in the lodge and then continue walking to Sherpa Gaon. After walking for 1 hour, you will reach Wangal village and from here you will have to walk through the steep trail until you reach Khanjum village. In this village, you can have your lunch and after lunch, you will continue walking to Sherpa Gaon. From Sherpa Gaon, you can have the beautiful view of the surrounding himalayan ranges. Overnight in Sherpa Gaon.
Day 6: Sherpa Gaon to Langtang Village (3430m)
Hiking duration: 5/6 hours
From Sherpa gaon, you will start walking to reach Langtang Village. After walking for 1 hour, you will reach Lama Hotel and from here you will enter a forested area from where you will occasionally see the glimpse of Langtang Lirung. Now, the trail becomes more steeper and ascend up gradually. On the way, you will cross the north bank of river and continue walking. You will pass the Gumnachowk on the way from where you will climb a short steep hill from the river path from where the valley widens and you will arrive to Ghodatabela (3010m). After some rest, you will start your trail to Langtang village (3430 m). Once you reach langtang village, you will check in to the lodge. Overnight accommodation will be in a local lodge.
Hiking duration: 3/4 hours
We start our trekking as the trail leads us through the tiny village, stone-built houses and climb to a Chorten along a gentle path of a hill. We have chance to test cheese and curd by Yak milk. The surroundings are interesting because of the famous Cheese factory and ancient Buddhist Monastery. This beautiful valley is in the lap of the Mount Langtang Lirung and others peaks. This will be a shorter walk for acclimatization. Overnight in Kyanjin Gumba
Hiking distance: 6 hours
The trail descends down passing the yak pasture land until reaching Langtang which takes about 2 hours then continue walk and cross the suspension bridge and climb down till Thangshyap. It takes about 1 hour. Again you continue the trail following through the forests until reaching Godatabela which takes about 1 hour. You have lunch break here. After lunch, the trail keeps descending till Lama Hotel.Stay overnight in lodge.
Hiking distance: 4/5 hours
Today, you will return back to SyapruBesi. You will have your breakfast in the hotel and then start walking downhill through the Forest area. On the way you will walk through the jungle and some small villages. You can have your lunch on the way and continue walking to reach SaypruBesi. Once you reach SyabruBesi, you will check-in to the lodge and then rest and relax. Overnight in SyapruBesi.
Driving distance: 8 hours
After your breakfast in the morning get ready to drive back to Kathmandu with the splendid views of hills, mountains, terraces and villages. After reaching to Kathmandu the remaining time is for you to rest and in the evening you can explore Thamel and the local streets on your own.
