Welcome to Lhasa airport. Upon arrival, our Tibet agent will welcome you at Lhasa Gonggar Airport (LXA) and transfer you to the hotel by a private vehicle. Lhasa is situated on the north bank of Kyi-chu River means "Place of the Gods". Rest for the remaining time as acclimatization is mandatory in this high altitude city to conclude your tour easily. After breakfast, we begin exploring Lhasa visiting the beautiful Potala and Norbulingka Palaces, better known as Winter Palace and Summer palace, respectively. Built in the 17th century, Potala Palace provides amazing views of the entire city and houses the private quarters of the Dalai Lama. Norbulingka Palace houses what is considered to be the largest man-made garden in Tibet. Next, we visit the Tibet Traditional Hospital, which is the center for the treatment, training, research, and production of Tibetan medicine. Overnight accommodation will be in a hotel.
After breakfast, we visit Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Bazaar. Drepung Monastery, which was built in the 14th century, is the world’s largest monastery and believed to have sheltered around 10,000 monks in the past, but as of now, there has been quite a declination resulting in only a few hundred. The history, culture, and religious beliefs of the Tibetan people are strongly concentrated and centered in this marvelous monastery. Sera Monastery is a preserved monastery of whitewashed walls and golden roofs. The main attraction to visit this monastery is to see the monks debating which is held from 3-5 pm every day apart from Sundays. Jokhang Temple is another important sacred site which unravels more deep-seated mysteries of Tibetan Buddhism. Inside you can see the statue of Buddha Sakyamuni when he was twelve-years-old. We further stroll through Barkhor Bazaar (market). With its open-air stalls, shops, and crowds of pilgrims, it is the nerve center of Lhasa. Overnight in Lhasa hotel
In the morning, after breakfast, drive from Lhasa to Shigatse. On the way, drive over the Gampala pass (4790 m) and get a chance to have a glimpse of Yamdrok-Tso lake (4400m) which is surrounded by many snow-capped mountains where you can have spectacular views of Holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar, (7191m) the highest mountain near Lhasa. Later, we pass by the Korola Glacier on the roadside; At Manak Dam Lake, you can hang pray flag at Simila Mountain Pass; Then, we will arrive in Gyantse, historically Tibet's third largest city (after Lhasa and Shigatse).In Gyantse, we will visit the famous Pelkor Monastery and Gyantse Kumbum and enjoy the Far view of Gyangtse Fortress. After some time, we finally reach Shigatse, which is the second largest city in Tibet. Overnight in Shigatse.
In the morning, we will visit the home of Panchen Lama - Tashilunpo Monastery. Then, we’ll drive to Lhatse, a small town to have lunch. After that, we will pass Tsola Pass(4600M), and Gyatsola Pass(5248M). Shortly after we enter Mt. Everest National Nature Reserve, tourists can enjoy the panorama of Himalaya at Gawula Pass(5198m). Then we drive along the New zigzag road to Everest Base Camp(5200m) and get closer to the Mt. Everest peak. Stay overnight at tent or Rongbuk monastery guest house.
In the morning, if you are lucky you can get the chance to see the sunrise of Everest Peak. Later, we visit the Rongbuk Monastery - the unique highest monastery with nuns and monks living together. You can visit the Everest Base Camp monument and take the close-up shot of Mt. Everest. Finally, we will drive back to Shigatse. Overnight in Shigatse.
Today, we drive back to Lhasa by following Yalong Valley. You can stand on the viewing platform and view the vast Yalong Riverbed. Finally, we reach Lhasa. Upon reaching Lhasa, check-in to your hotel and have rest. Overnight in Lhasa.
After breakfast, we again leave Lhasa and drive to Lake Namtso, one of the four holy lakes of Tibet and is also the highest saline lake in the world. On the way, you can view some of the snow-capped Nyenchen Thanglha Mountain Ranges and lots of nomads and their tent with grazing yak and sheep densely-populated on the flourishing grassland ( in summer). Besides, you can enjoy the view of Sky-Road Railway with snow mountain background. You can have the stunning view of Namtso Lake from the Lagen la Mountain Pass(5190m). Then we can do leisure trek around Tashi Island and enjoy the sunset of Namtso. At night, you enjoy the night view of the milky way at the lake shore. Stay overnight at Namtso Tent Guest house
In the morning, you can walk along the lake shore to Tashi Dor Island to explore the meditation caves. Later, we drive to Dumxung to have lunch. In the afternoon, you may enjoy Yangpachen hot spring (Optional) and have both indoor and outdoor swimming pool filled with hot springs water. Finally, we retrace our way back to Lhasa. Overnight in Lhasa.
Have your breakfast early in the morning and our office representative will come to pick you up at the hotel to transfer you to the airport regarding your flight time. Have a safe journey onwards.
