The Everest Kalapathar tour is a trek that takes you through the majestic land of the Himalayas. Mt. Everest is the highest peak in the world also known as Sagarmatha, which means higher than the sky. Everest Kalapathar tour takes you through the Everest region offers surprising and hidden mountain views, and opportunities to get a glimpse into the culture and lifestyle of The Sherpas (World Famous Mountain climbers).
The Everest Kalapathar tour starts with a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, from where we will start trekking to Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Thame, Khumjung, Pangboche, Dingboche, Chhukung Village, Lobuche, Dzongla, Dragnag, Gokyo and Lungden before heading back to Lukla through Namche Bazaar. The Everest Kalapathar tour takes you to three beautiful passes; Kongma La pass, Cho La Pass, and Renjo La Pass during the trek you will have magnificent views of Mt. Everest (8848 m), Chi Oyu (8201 m), Pumori (7171 m), the Lhotse Wall (8400 m), Lhotse (8500 m), Ama Dablam (6856 m), Makalu (8481 m), Baruntse (7129 m) and many more. Furthermore, the trek takes you over the famous Khumbu Glacier and many glacier lakes.
After arriving in Kathmandu, our office representative will pick you up from the airport and will welcome, assist and transfer you to the hotel. In the afternoon, you may rest as you might be having Jet Lag and later on visit the Asian Heritage office to get more insights about your trek. Furthermore, you can stroll around the local streets of Thamel and explore the city.

Today is your free day in Kathmandu. Kathmandu has many things to offer, visit the three most important temples, wander around the streets of Old Town or explore the colorful streets of Thamel. You can visit Boudhanath (the biggest stupa in Nepal), Swayambhunath (also known as the monkey temple) or Pashupatinath (the most important Hindu temple in Nepal). Furthermore, the streets of Thamel offer many souvenirs and local product shops and a wide range of good cuisines. You can explore the city on your own and prepare for the start of your trek.

The Everest Kalapathar tour starts with a flight to Lukla from Kathmandu Airport. From Lukla, we commence our trek up toward Phakding. The trail runs along the DudhKosi (Milk River). You will be trekking amidst a rhododendron forest, which gives a strong aroma of evergreen oak. Along the way, you will pass by many villages until you reach Phakding.

The trail will start off relatively easy but will gradually become harder. You will be able to get your first glimpse of Everest as you are crossing the mighty DudhKoshi. As you proceed further, the trail will lead you to Monjo, where you could make a lunch stopover. The next part of the trail will be more difficult. The trail becomes more vertical and the altitude will add on as we head towards Namche, leaving one with shortness of breath. One should not increase the walking pace but rather step up slow and steady. You will be making a pit stop at Namche Bazaar to stay the night. The people of and around the Solukhumbu region conjugate in this area to do business. There are facilities of shops, restaurants, hotels, a bank, and internet services which enable you to get in touch with your loved ones, friends and relatives. Namche Bazaar offers an interesting insight into how people survive in this region.

One the fifth day of the Everest Kalapathar tour, you can use your time to acclimatize, relax and explore the surrounding places. Most of the trekkers prefer to get up before sunrise to view the magnificent views of Mount Everest, Thamserku, AmaDablam, and other glorious peaks from the Sagarmatha National Park. One can get a chance to observe the shadow of the Giant Himalayas being projected onto the clouds above and truly appreciate their magnitude. As an energy supplier, one should try salt-butter tea and Champa, a kind of barley often consumed by the sherpas in the region. The lively cultural Saturday market is worth a visit and is usually full of traders who are trying to desperately sell off their products.

We will be commencing early in the morning to Thame. One must be prepared for the drastic and rapid change in climate and temperature, one minute the sun will be glaring fiercely and the next it will be as even darkness has engulfed you. The initial part of the trek is easy-going as it is relatively flat however, the views will be outrageous. After a few more hours, you will reach Thame. In the neighboring village, Nauje is a small Monastery for Tibetan Nun’s. The Monastery has a stunning, beautiful giant prayer wheel, carved and painted in dazzling Nepali colors. We will be having lunch close to the monastery. We will be going for a walk to gain some extra height which helps us adjust to the latitude.

We will begin the trek to Khumjung with an early start. We will start off climbing uphill to the monastery above Thame village. If the weather is good, you will be able to witness a scene where the natural beauty of the majestic landscape combines with the ancient Buddhist culture of the Sherpa people. After the visit, you will be heading back in the direction of Namche Bazaar towards Khumbila. The trail eventually widens as you head towards Khumjung and follow the contour of the mountain at a slight incline. This village lies at the foot of the sacred peak, Khumbila. The Monastery there was established approximately 340 years ago and is the head of a Yeti, popularly known as the Abominable Snowman. It is a nice place to stay for the night. It is a famous place for Adman Hillary lover people.

You will start off hiking along the old but still used, Everest expedition trail. There will be a possibility of you stumbling upon some rich Himalayan wildlife like deer, pheasants, and monkeys. This trail also offers beautiful views of the mountain ranges and leads you upwards through a forest which gives off a lovely aroma of Juniper bush. You will reach Pangboche and stay the night there.

Today, we start our walk towards Dingboche. Dingboche is at an elevation of 4410 m so that means the trek is going to be quite challenging due to the elevation and the stones/rocks filled trail. On the way, we will see forests with a variety of lush trees – birch, conifers, and rhododendron and we will meet lots of yaks during the walk. This picturesque trail dips down to Deboche, crossing the suspension bridge over the surging white waters of Imja River before climbing up to Dingboche. Soon, after a snow white stupa with gorgeous all-seeing eyes, you can see it is mirroring the Amadablam; this is a marvelous place for a picture! Later on, the trail ascends gently to the village of Pangboche (3860 m), where we climb above the tree line. Then, we pass through the numerous grazing lands with big yak populations to reach Dingboche valley.

After Breakfast, as soon as you start to walk, you will see the amazing mountain scenery which you hadn’t expected. You will climb up ChhukhungRi (5550 m) and from here, the reward will be more valued than our effort as we find ourselves within access to beautiful peaks. The Breathtaking views of Cho Oyu (8201 m), Pumori (7161 m), the Lhotse Wall (8400 m), Lhotse (8500 m), AmaDablam (6856 m), Makalu (8481 m) and Baruntse (7129 m) will surprise us and prepare us well for what’s ahead.

Today, you need to walk quite a bit longer than the earlier days. We will cross the first pass called the Kongma La (5400 m) pass. Then, we will start our trail climbing up to the NiyangKhola Valley. A long screen descent brings us to the edge of the world-famous Khumbu Glacier, from where the walk will gradually get easy as we cross it. After some time, you will reach Lobuche and today’s walking concludes there.

Today, you trek down to Dzongla using a winding trail which takes about 7 to 8 hours. Dzongla is a small settlement below the Cho La pass. On the way to Dzongla, you’ll also enjoy the scenic Cho La Lake along with the greatest views of the Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Thamserku, Mera Peak and many more.

Our journey headed towards the Cho La Pass, which is very vertical and a tough climb, takes around 3 hours over a rocky ridge to reach the top of the pass. On the top, a feeling of luck and happiness will fill your heart if you observe the unbelievable scenic beauty of AmaDablam, Thamserku, Taboche, Baruntse, and very nearby Cholatse. After crossing the Cho La pass we hike over the glacier, across the snow and ice for about an hour. After lunch, we rest for some time and walk down about 3 hours over a rocky path to Dragnag.

After Breakfast, we start walking the trail for one and a half hour, the trail leads uphill before it becomes an easy walk for a while. You will see the breathtaking views of Gokyo Lake and its surroundings. After some rest at the lodge in Gokyo, we start with a short climb to the ridge, from where you can observe the amazing view of the glacier with its small glacier lakes. On the fifteenth day of the Everest Kalapathar tour, you will enjoy the best day of the entire trail. Although it is called a rest day you will enjoy the surroundings. You can hike to GokyoRi located at a 5360-meter-high hill on the north side of the DudhPokhari; this will take around 2 to 3 hours. From the summit, you can have a panoramic view of Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cholatse and Taboche, and the Ngozumpa Glacier. Hike up the Gokyo valley and pass two or three more glacial lakes towards Cho Oyu, this can be another option to spend the day.

Today, we start early heading up for the upper trail west of Gokyo Lake that leads towards the Renjo La pass. After climbing a steep sandy ridge for about 3 hours, we will reach the top of Renjo La. There you can have fabulous views of above 7000 and 8000 m high peaks of Everest, Lhotse, Chalotse, and Taboche. Continuing the pass we will head over a pathway of stone stairs which leads to the south bank of a small serene lake, The AngladumbaTsho. After another 4 hours walk, we reach Lungden.

Today, After Breakfast your day starts with walking downhill through a Rhododendron forest. Once you get to the bottom of the hill, cross the suspension bridge and a steep climb through the pine and Juniper forest is needed to reach Khumjung. After resting for some time, you can explore the Khumjung village. After having lunch, continue your walk to Namche Bazaar.

After having breakfast in a teahouse in Namche Bazaar, we will begin our trek to Lukla. Lunch will be served on the way. After we reach Lukla, we will have time to get refreshed and to relax. You can spend the time remembering the journey which you have covered during the past few days and share your experience with other trekkers

After Breakfast, you have a flight back to Kathmandu. The flight leaves before 10:00 am but please notice that the airport in Lukla is dependent on the weather conditions. With the flight, you will be leaving the Everest region. When the flight arrives at the Kathmandu Airport, our representative will pick up, assist you and transfer you to your hotel by a private vehicle. This marks the end of Everest Kalapathar tour.

Today is your last day in Nepal. Have your breakfast and later on our office representative will come to receive you in the hotel and they will transfer you to the Tribhuvan airport to catch the flight back to your onward destination, according to your flight time.
