Bumdra tour includes the most famous monasteries - Bumdra and Taktshang Monastery along with the natural beauty of flora fauna and mountains along the way. Bumdra is located at the altitude of 3800m above sea level and the Taktshang Monastery is 3100m above sea level. Bumdra by its name means ‘Rock of One Hundred Thousand FootPrints". According to a tale, a hundred thousand Dakinis (angels) descended here and left their footprints on the rock 800 years ago.

Flight to Paro with panoramic views of sacred Mt. Chomolhari and Mt. Jichudrakey. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed and driven to Thimpu - capital city of Bhutan and checked into the hotel. In the afternoon, we visit Memorial Chorten built in the memory of late 3rd king and further drive to Buddha viewpoint to visit largest Buddha statue in the world. Overnight in Thimphu.
In the morning, we visit Changgangkha Lhakhang, Takin’s mini Zoo, Painting school, national library, folk heritage museum, textile museum and handmade paper factory are some of the sightseeing that you can see in Thimphu. In the evening we will visit Tashichho Dzong, the fortress which houses the throne room of His Majesty the king and summer resident for central monk body. Overnight in Thimphu.
After breakfast, drive to Paro. On arrival at Paro, check into your hotel. In afternoon, we will visit National Museum. The Paro Dzong, a massive fortress built in the 17th century now houses the monastic body. Overnight in Paro.
In the morning drive to Sang. The initial climb up from the temple through the alpine forest takes about 3 hours to reach the base of the old temple. After climbing through ruins and fluttering prayer flags, you can see high wide meadow dotted with sacred chortens and prayer flags and Bumdra Monastery (cave of a thousand prayers). Overnight in tent.
After 1-2 hours of descent, we find glimpses of the golden roofs of temples. The path snakes across the mountainside between the monasteries and temples before reaching the gardens of Zhangtopelri. Later we are at the gates of Taktsang looking across the gorge a steep descent to a waterfall then ascent on steps and you are passing into the Tiger’s Nest itself. Then back to the hotel and have good rest. Overnight in Paro.
In the morning, visit the temples of Dzongdrakha. Continue driving to Haa over the Chelela Pass at 3988m. If good weather, we can see the sacred mountain in the country Mt. Jomolhari. Overnight in Paro.
Today is free or last minute shopping for souvenirs or gift to your family, friends or relatives for you until your departure flight.
