Nepal - 3 Passes Everest Trek (21 days)

The Everest 3 passes trek is a unique experience providing the most amazing views throughout the Everest region. The trek will show you numerous mountain villages, beautiful lakes, tough climbing trails, mountain forests, and the Sherpa culture. Starting from Lukla, the trek will continue to Namche Bazaar, Thame, Khumjung, Pangboche, Dingboche, Chhukung village, Lobuche, Dzongla, Dragnag, Gokyo and Lungdun before coming back to Namche Bazaar and Lukla. During the trek, you will explore the Kongma La and Cho La Passes to enjoy the breathtaking views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Thamserku, Mera peak and many more.While trekking you go through Juniper and rhododendron forests giving a lovely aroma to the air.In most of the villages, the Sherpa culture is visually present and shared with the tourists.

Welcome! to Kathmandu Nepal. Asian Heritage Treks & Travel Representative welcome you at the Airport with your nameplate.  After Arrival at Nepal airport transfer you to the hotel. On the way Airport to Hotel, you will pass by the Open cremation Place (Pashupatinath temple)Royal Palace Museum i.e NarayanhityGarden Of Dream and reach the Thamel. Your hotel will be in downtown of Touristic Hub. Our representative will facilitate you and discuss your travel itinerary. There will be enough time to stroll through the street of Thamel. Overnight in a hotel.

 Firstly, you will be visiting the UNESCO world heritage site Kathmandu Durbar Square along with a tour guide in a private vehicle. Observe the typical wood carved temples and buildings reflecting the ancient Kathmandu city and then you will be heading towards Swyambhunath- the monkey temple where you can observe the religious harmony and tolerance between the Buddhist religion and Hindu religion along with that enjoy the panoramic view of Kathmandu city and the Himalaya ranges from here. Visit the Pashupatinath Temple, one of the biggest pilgrimage site for the Hindu religion people in south-east Asia, explore the surroundings and you can observe the ritual body cremating ceremony process of the Hindu people at the bank of holy Bagmati river and then visit another pilgrimage site nearby to the Pashupatinath Temple known as Guweyswori Temple, explore the surroundings and then we will go the another UNESCO world heritage site Boudhanath Stupa. It was built in 600A.D. and is the only one of a kind of stupa reflecting Buddhism in the world. Explore the surroundings of Boudhanath Stupa and after completing your sight seen get back to the hotel and rest. Overnight in a hotel.

Fly to Lukla from the Kathmandu Airport. From Lukla, we commence to climb up towards Phakding. The trail runs along the Dudh Kosi (Milk River). You will be trekking amidst rhododendron forests while smelling the strong aroma of evergreen oak. Along the way, you will pass by many villages until you reach Phakding. Overnight accommodation will be in a local lodge.

The trail will start off relatively easy but will gradually become harder. You will be able to get your first glimpse of Everest as you are crossing the mighty Dudh Koshi. As you proceed on further, the trail will lead you to Monjo, where you could have a stopover for lunch. The next part of the trail will be more difficult. The trail becomes vertical and the altitude will add on as we head towards Namche, leaving one with shortness of breath. One should not increase the walking pace but rather step up slowly and steadily. You will be making a pit stop at Namche Bazaar to stay the night there. The people of and around the Solukhumbu region conjugate in this area to do business. There are facilities like shops, restaurants, hotels, a bank, and internet services which enables you to get in touch with your loved ones, friends and relatives. Namche Bazaar offers an interesting insight into how people survive in the region. Overnight accommodation will be in a local lodge.

Namche Bazaar is also known as the Sherpa Capital. You can use your time to acclimatize, relax and explore the surrounding places. Most of the trekkers prefer to get up before sunrise to view the magnificent views of Mount Everest, Thamserku, AmaDablam and other glorious peaks from the Sagarmatha National Park. One can get a chance to observe the shadow of the Giant Himalayas being projected onto the clouds above and truly appreciate their magnitude. As an energy supplier, one should try salt-butter tea and Champa – a kind of barley often consumed by the sherpas in the region. The lively cultural Saturday market is worth a visit and is usually full of traders who are trying to desperately sell their products. Overnight accommodation will be in a local lodge. 

We will be commencing early in the morning to Thame. One must be prepared for the drastic and rapid change in climate and temperature – one minute the sun will be glaring fiercely and the next it will be as even darkness has engulfed you. The initial part of the trek is easy-going as it is relatively flat, however, the views will be outrageous. After a few more hours, you will reach Thame. In the neighboring village, Nauje is a small Monastery for Tibetan Nun's. The Monastery has a stunningly beautiful giant prayer wheel, carved and painted in dazzling Nepali colors. We will be having lunch close to the monastery. We will be going for a walk to gain some extra height and to help adjust to the altitude. Overnight accommodation will be in Thame Lodge.

We will begin the trek to Khumjung with an early start, climbing uphill to the monastery above Thame village. If the weather is fine, you will be able to witness a scene where the natural beauty of the majestic landscape combines with the ancient Buddhist culture of the Sherpa people. After the visit, you will be heading back in the direction of Namche Bazaar towards Khumbila. The trail eventually widens as you head towards Khumjung and follows the contour of the mountain at a slight inclines. This village lies at the foot of the sacred peak, called Khumbila. The Monastery there was established approximately 340 years ago and is the head of a Yeti, popularly known as the Abominable Snowman. It is a nice place to spend the night and is seen as a famous place for Edmund Hillary lovers. Overnight accommodation will be in a lodge.

Today you will start hiking along the old but still used, Everest expedition trail. There will be a possibility of you stumbling upon some rich Himalayan wildlife like deers, pheasants, and monkeys. This trail also offers beautiful views of the mountain ranges and leads you upwards through the forest which gives off a lovely aroma of Juniper bushes. Finally, you will reach Pangboche and spend the night there. Overnight accommodation will be in a lodge.

Today, we start our walk towards Dingboche. Dingboche is at an elevation of 4410m so that means the trek is going to be quite challenging due to the elevation and the stones/rocks filled trail. On the way, we will see forests with a variety of lush trees (birch, conifers, and rhododendron) and we will meet lots of yaks during the walk. This picturesque trail dips down to Deboche, crossing the suspension bridge over the surging white waters of Imja River before climbing up to Dingboche. Soon after a snow white stupa with gorgeous all-seeing eyes is mirroring the Ama Dablam, this is a marvelous place for a picture! Then the trail ascends gently to the village of Pangboche (3860 m), where we climb above the tree line. finally, we pass through the numerous grazing lands with big yak populations to reach Dingboche valley. Overnight accommodation will be in a local lodge.

After Breakfast, as soon as you start to walk, you will see the amazing mountain scenery which you didn't expect. You will climb up Chhukhung Ri 5,550 m. Here, the reward will be valued for above our effort as we find ourselves within access of beautiful peaks. The Breathtaking views of Cho Oyu 8,201 m, Pumori 7,161 m, the Lhotse Wall 8,400 m, Lhotse 8,500 m, Ama Dablam 6,856m, Makalu 8,481 m and Baruntse 7,129 m will surprise us and prepare us well for what’s ahead. Overnight accommodation will be in a local lodge.

Today, you need to walk quite a bit longer than earlier times. We will cross the first pas called Kongma La (5400m). Then we will start our trail climbing up to the Niyang Khola Valley. A long screen descent brings us to the edge of the world’s famous Khumbu Glacier; the walk will gradually get easier as we cross it. After some time, you will reach Lobuche which is where today's walking ends. Overnight accommodation will be in a local lodge.

Today, you trek down to Dzongla through the winding trail which takes about 7 to 8 hours. Dzongla is a small settlement below the Cho La pass. On the way to Dzongla, you’ll also enjoy the scenic Cho La Lake along with the greatest views of the Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Thamserku, Mera Peak and many more. Overnight accommodation will be in a local lodge.

Our journey heads towards the Cho La Pass (5368m) which is very vertical and a tough climb which will take around 3 hours over a rocky ridge before you reach the top of the pass. At the top, you will be feeling very lucky and get to see the unbelievable scenic beauty of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Taboche, Baruntse and nearby located Cholatse. After crossing the Cho La pass we hike over the glacier across the snow and ice for about an hour. After lunch, we rest for some time and walk down for around 3 hours through the rocky path to Dragnag. Overnight accommodation will be in a local lodge.

After Breakfast, we start walking a trail for 1.5 hours which first leads uphill before becoming an easy walk for a while. You will get to see the breathtaking views of Gokyo Lake and its surroundings. After some rest at the lodge in Gokyo, a short climb to the ridge is needed from where you can explore the amazing view of the Glacier with its small glacier lakes. Overnight accommodation will be in Gokyo in a local lodge. 

Today, you will enjoy the best day of the entire trail! Although it is called a rest day you will enjoy the surroundings of Gokyo. You can hike to Gokyo Ri located at 5,360 m and is a hill on the north side of the Dudh Pokhari, this takes around 2 to 3 hours. From the summit, you can have an overview of Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cholatse, Taboche and the Ngozumpa Glacier. Another option to spend the day can be to hike up the Gokyo valley and pass two or three more glacial lakes towards Cho Oyu. Overnight accommodation will be in a local lodge.

Today we start early, heading up for the upper trail west of Gokyo Lake towards Renjo La pass (5,415 m). After climbing a steep sandy ridge for about 3 hours, we will reach the top of Renjo La where you have fabulous views of above 7000 and 8000 m high peaks of Everest, Lhotse, Chalotse, and Taboche. Continuing the pass we will head through the pathway of stone stairs which leads to the south bank of a small serene lake, The Angladumba Tsho. After another 4 hours walk, we reach Lungden (4,380 m). Overnight accommodation will be in a local lodge.

After Breakfast your day starts with walking downhill through the Rhododendron forest. Once you get to bottom of the hill, you cross the suspension bridge and a steep climb through the pine and Juniper forest leads you to Khumjung. After some rest, you can explore the Khumjung village. The walk continues after lunch towards Namche Bazaar. Overnight accommodation will be in a local lodge.

After having breakfast in a teahouse at Namche Bazaar, we will begin our trek to Lukla. Lunch will be served on the way. After we reach Lukla, you will have time to get refreshed and to relax. You can spend the time remembering the journey you have covered during the past few days and share your experience with other trekkers. Overnight accommodation will be in a local lodge.

After Breakfast, you have a flight back to Kathmandu. According to weather condition, there might be some fluctuation in the flight time. When the flight lands in Kathmandu Airport, our representative will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel by a private vehicle.Overnight in a hotel.

Today our guide will pick up and drive you to Bhaktapur and visit UNESCO World Heritage Site, Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Explore the surroundings and afterward visit the Nyatapola Temple, one of the biggest temple in Nepal. Explore the surroundings and afterward visit the Nyatapola Temple, one of the biggest temple in Nepal. Here, you can also take the pottery making class using the traditional methods. You will visit the Pottery Square. Here, you can also take the pottery making class using the traditional methods. You will be taught to design your own pot and once you have your basic shape hammered out, you can even choose to adorn your creation with beautiful patterns and inscriptions. Afterward, you’ll be driven to one of the ancient cities inside Kathmandu valley i.e. Patan Durbar Square for sightseeing. In Patan, you will be visiting another UNESCO World Heritage sites: Krishna Temple and Patan Durbar Square. Later on, visit the Patan Museum, where you can learn more about the history of Patan and the kings who reigned here. Later, visit the Golden Temple, a major attraction for the both Hindu and Buddhist people, and Banglamukhi Temple.  Then after, you will visit  Kirtipur is a historical town of Newar community which is famous for preserving its architecture and culture including the beauty of nature. In Kirtipur, you’ll do a quick visit to sightseeing sites such as Bagh Bhairav temple, Chilancho Stupa, Uma Maheshwar, etc. Overnight in a hotel.

Our representative will pick you up and drive you to Kathmandu. You will be advised and assisted with your onward travel arrangements and transfer to Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport by our private van around 3 hours before your flight schedule and flight back to your home/other travel destination. Have a safe journey onwards.
