Nepal has many hidden gems and Ama Yangri peak is one of the gems. Located in the Helambu region of Sindhupalchowk district, it is one of the isolated and less popular but an amazing hiking destination in the Helambu region. Ama Yangri peak lies at the altitude of 3771 and is considered to be one of the highest peaks around Kathmandu Valley. According to the myth, Ama Yangri is considered to be a deity which has turned into the protector of the Helambu region. The Ama Yangri peak can be compared to the Poon hill of the Annapurna region in terms of views of the mountains. The route is filled with diverse forests, birds and little beautiful villages. This trek is beautiful to experience both in the natural and cultural way.

The trails lead us through the dense forest, where you can sight many birds, and villages. Tarke Ghyang is located just at the foothill of Tarke Ghyang. Overnight in local lodge.

Ama Yang Ri, also considered as a hidden gem in Helambu, is a worth to visit the Yang Ri Peak, locally known as Ama Jyomo Yangri, and is believed to be Holy Mountain.
