Tour Details

Kalinchowk Bhagwati Temple is a Hindu shrine in the Dolkha District of Nepal. It is situated in Kalinchowk VDC in Dolkha at an altitude of 3842m from sea level. It’s part of the Gaurishankar Conservation Area from where two rivers Sun Kosi and Tama Kosi Rivers originated. The route from Deurali to Kuri village is the best spot for wildlife enthusiasts and birdwatchers. Charikot is also an interesting junction spot along the Kalinchowk route. Since Charikot is the headquarters of the Dolakha district, it is adequately developed in infrastructure. There is another famous temple, DolakhaBhimsen temple, which is about 30 minutes driving distance from Charikot.

Itinerary

Day 1Kathmandu to Charikot

Today, we begin our journey to the Kalinchowk Bhagwati shrine. We travel in our private vehicle, about 5 hours, to Charikot. Charikot is the headquarters of the Dolakha district and we will stay overnight here. On reaching Charikot, you will visit the roofless temple, DolakhaBhimsen, which is triangular and made of rough stone. The idol in the temple is said to resemble three different gods: Bhimeshwar in the morning, Mahadeva during the day, and the Narayana in the evening. From Chaikot, you can relax and enjoy the stunning mountain views, or if you like to explore, you can gain some insight into the culture and daily life of the village.
Accommodation: Overnight in the hotel at Charikot.

Day 2Charikot to Kuri village, explore Kalinchowk (3842 m)

We travel to our next destination i.e. Kuri village. This village is at foot of the Kalinchowk hill. You can either travel one and a half hours in a jeep or hike 5 hours to Kuri. On the way to Kuri, you can see the panorama view of Ganesh Himal, Langtang Himal, etc.
Accommodation: Overnight in the hotel at Kuri.

Day 3Kuri to Kathmandu

In the early morning, we hike for one hour to catch the majestic view of the sunrise from the top of the hill where Kalinchowk Bhagwati Shrine is situated. After spending some time at Kalinchowk Bhagwati Shrine, we start our descent to Kuri village and then make preparations to return to a long journey to Kathmandu. Check in to your hotel and have a rest.
