Tibet - Nepal Tibet Highlights Tour (16 days)

Lhasa, the city of gods and the essence of Tibet, has attracted thousands of travelers as well as pilgrimages. If you want to explore the highlights of Lhasa in short times, this four days tour is perfect. You will visit the most famous Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery. With outstanding architectures and various cultural relics to see, each of them will leave you an unforgettable memory.

This itinerary is a guideline only and we will follow the itinerary as far as possible but due to weather conditions, health conditions, natural disasters and other unfavorable phenomenon your guide might decide to amend or cancel the itinerary for your own safety. Welcome! to Kathmandu Nepal. Asian Heritage Treks & Travel Representative welcome you at the Airport with your nameplate.  After Arrival at Nepal airport transfer you to the hotel. On the way Airport to Hotel, you will pass by the Open cremation Place (Pashupatinath temple), Royal Palace Museum i.e NarayanhityGarden Of Dream and reach the Thamel. Your hotel will be in downtown of Touristic Hub.  Check in to your sumptuous room at the luxury 4-star Hotel Yatri suits & Spa. Our representative will facilitate you and discuss your travel itinerary. There will be enough time to stroll through the street of Thamel. Overnight accommodation in Hotel Yatri Suites & Spa with Breakfast Plan.


After Breakfast Our tour guide will come to pick you up along with the driver and vehicle.  Firstly you will be visiting the UNESCO world heritage site Kathmandu Durbar Square where you can observe the typical wood carved temples and buildings reflecting the ancient Kathmandu city.  After then we will be heading towards Swyambhunath- the monkey temple where you can observe the religious harmony and tolerance between the Buddhist religion and Hindu religion along with that enjoy the panoramic view of Kathmandu city and the Himalaya ranges from here. After that you will be visiting the Pashupatinath Temple, one of the biggest pilgrimage site for the Hindu religion people in south-east Asia, explore the surroundings and you can observe the ritual body cremating ceremony process of the Hindu people at the bank of holy Bagmati river and then visit another pilgrimage site nearby to the Pashupatinath Temple known as Guweyswori Temple, explore the surroundings and then you will go to visit the another UNESCO world heritage siteBoudhanath Stupa. It was built in 600 A.D. and is the only one of a kind of stupa reflecting Buddhism in the world.  Explore the surroundings of Boudhanath Stupa and after completing your sightseeing get back to the hotel and rest.  Overnight in Hotel  Yatri suits and Spa.

Our tour guide will come to pick you up along with the private vehicle. Welcome to Lhasa airport. Upon arrival, our Tibet agent will welcome you at Lhasa Gonggar Airport (LXA) and transfer you to the hotel by a private vehicle. Lhasa is situated on the north bank of Kyi-chu River means "Place of the Gods". Rest for the remaining time as acclimatization is mandatory in this high altitude city to conclude your tour easily. Overnight in Lhasa.

After having our Breakfast in the hotel, you will drive to Drepung Monastery, 8 Km west of Lhasa - said to be the largest monastery in the world, housing over 10,000 monks. It was founded in 1416 by the disciple of Je Tsongkhapa, founder of the Yellow Hat Gelukpa sect of Tibetan Buddhism. The second, third and fourth Dalai Lamas lived and were entombed here. Drepung in Tibetan means "Richmond". Drepung monastery lies hidden in rocky ridges just beyond the grasp of the city. Surprisingly much of the building has withstood the testament of time. You will be also visiting the Sera Monastery which was founded in the fifteenth century is sprawl with golden roofs and whitewashed walls. This well-preserved monastery is located just a few miles north of Lhasa at the foot of Tatipu Hill in the northern suburb of Lhasa City and is home to several hundred monks. Once a community of more than 5,000 monks resided here and was virtually extinguished by the Chinese. The restored monastery sits below the brow of the hill on which Tsongkhapa built a hermitage and spent several years meditating. One of the monks' disciples began building Sera in 1419, completing it a few years later. It is famous for debating activities which happens between 3 to 4 pm and is a daily routine. Overnight accommodation will be in a hotel.

Today you will visit Jokhang Temple. It is situated in the heart of Old Lhasa, it houses Tibet's most precious religious relic, a golden Shakyamuni Buddha which was brought as a gift by the Chinese Princess Wen Cheng on the occasion of her wedding to the Tibetan King, Songtsen Gompo. It is the most respected shrine in all of Tibet and is always bustling with spiritual worshippers. The temple is the ultimate pilgrimage destination for Tibetan Pilgrims. The temple adopts architectural styles of the Tang Dynasty, as well as those of Tibet and Nepal. Surrounding the Jokhang Temple is the bustling Barkhor Marketplace which is the religious and social focus of Lhasa. You will also have the opportunity to do some shopping in the Barkhor market- a Tibetan crowded city center. Barkhor Street is a magical place showing the original outlook of Lhasa for visitors. It is paved by hand-polished stone boards. A variety of shops covers along both of the sides and the streets are dotted with floating stands which sell prayer wheels and Tibetan knives. Later in the day, you will be visiting the Potala Palace; this legendary palace built atop a single hill is synonymous with Tibet. It was expanded to its present structure during the 17th century by the 5th Dalai Lama. This 13 story, 1000 room citadel served as the headquarters of the former "church-state" of the Tibet and was home to successive Dalai Lamas, who from the latter half of the 18th century used it as their winter palace. This palace is Lhasa's cardinal landmark and is a wonder of Eastern architecture. The Palace is composed of two parts, the Red Palace as the center and the white Palace at the sides. The red represents stateliness and power whereas the white is used to convey peace and quiet. Your first visit to this massive structure will be a magical moment and will leave behind a deep impression on you. Overnight accommodation will be in a hotel.

In the morning, after breakfast, drive from Lhasa to Shigatse. On the way, drive over the Gampala pass (4790 m) and get a chance to have a glimpse of Yamdrok-Tso lake (4400m) which is surrounded by many snow-capped mountains where you can have spectacular views of Holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar, (7191m) the highest mountain near Lhasa. Later, we pass by the Korola Glacier on the roadside; At Manak Dam Lake, you can hang pray flag at Simila Mountain Pass; Then, we will arrive in Gyantse, historically Tibet's third largest city (after Lhasa and Shigatse).In Gyantse, we will visit the famous Pelkor Monastery and Gyantse Kumbum and enjoy the Far view of Gyangtse Fortress. After some time, we finally reach Shigatse, which is the second largest city in Tibet. Overnight in Shigatse.

Today, we drive back to Lhasa via Gyatse. You can stand on the viewing platform and view the vast Yalong Riverbed. Finally, we reach Lhasa. Upon reaching Lhasa, check-in to your hotel and have rest. Overnight in Lhasa

Today we will have a flight from Lhasa to Kathmandu. our representative will pick up at the airport and arrange onward flights to Pokhara.

Today, you will be sightseeing the beautiful Pokhara. The enigmatic Davi’s Falls is a few minute’s drives away. The Pardi Khola is the outflow from Phewa Lake, and at Devi’s Fall, it disappears into a mysterious cavern in the ground, creating magnificent sprays. Another attraction is the Seti Gandaki river, which flows right through the heart of the town. The limestone in the soil gives the river its milky color. At certain spots, the Seti Gandaki runs completely underground. There are a number of Tibetan settlements around Pokhara which sell handicraft goods & Tibetan carpets. Today we will visit Davi's Waterfall, Ghupteswor Mahadev, International Mountain Museum, which is the major attraction for sightseeing in  Pokhara. 

Today, you will start off with an early drive to Sarangkot to capture the tranquil and magical view of the city before sunrise and also to view the first rays of sunlight hitting the mountains in the background. Sarangkot offers panoramic views of the Annapurna, Fishtail, Dhaulagiri and other mountains. Thereafter, we will go for boating at Fewa lake and we will hike towards Peace Stupa. Pokhara Shanti Stupa is a Buddhist pagoda-style monument on Anadu Hill of the former Pumdi Bhumdi Village Development Committee, in the district of Kaski. The boat trip crossing Phewa Lake from Pumdi Bhumdi bay to Phewa Ghat lasts up to half an hour, and it is a good opportunity to enjoy the sight of Himalayan peaks reflecting on the water. It is also a relaxing way to end a hiking day and a panoramic loop at the World Peace Pagoda.

Today, we will drive you to Lumbini. You will visit SCARED GARDEN with Mayadevi temple depicting the birth of Lord Buddha, the Ashoka pillar pinpointing the place of birth of the Buddha and the Sakyan Tank where Mayadevi, the mother of the Buddha is supposed to have taken a dip before bringing forth the baby. All around this holy site there are remnants of monasteries and chaityas built over the centuries following the Buddha's birth in 623 B.C. Overnight in Lumbini.

Today we will we visit Lumbini in the early morning. You will be exploring different Monastic zones: German Monastery, Chinese Monastery, Thai monastery, International nuns, Golden temple. The Peaceful Monastic zone flourishes the teachings of Lord Buddha. Learn about the different cultures in different monastic zones of Lumbini. After finishing sightseeing, you will continue the journey to Chitwan. You will reach Chitwan in the early evening and check-in to the hotel. Overnight in Hotel

Today we will walk around the jungle and we will commence deep down in the forest in the local jeep to trace the footprints of the tiger. Get ready to get another glimpse of the one-horned rhino, Asian elephant, Spotted Deer (Chital), Barking Deer, Hog Deer, Samber, Swamp Deer, Black Buck, Bull, Wild Boar, Wild Dog, Leopard, and many other wild animals.  After completing the jungle safari, we will head for the canoe trip. You will canoe ride along the Rapti river. You will see the varieties of birds in the river along with the canoe trip. 

Today we will drive back to kathmandu.later on you can stroll through the street of the Thamel for buying gifts as a token of love for your friends and family.

Your trip will come to an end today. You will be advised and assisted with your onward travel arrangements and transfer to Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport by our private van around 3 hours before your flight schedule and flight back to your home/other travel destination. Have a safe journey onwards
