Spiritual Trekking in Nepal – Discover the profound experience of spiritual trekking in Nepal, where external and internal harmony converges. In this journey, you will connect with the life forces, find spiritual healing, and immerse yourself in the rich culture of Nepalese Shamanism.

Shamanism represents the ancient spiritual practices of indigenous cultures and tribes within the Nepalese community. The objective of Spiritual Trekking in Nepal is to cultivate both external and internal harmony by connecting with life forces, facilitating spiritual healing, and exploring the Nepalese Shaman culture and its sacred practices. In rural Nepal, Shamanism is often referred to as Dhami/Jhakri or healing doctors. In ancient times, people firmly believed in the ability of Jhankris to heal through the use of spells (Tantras/Mantras) and ceremonial drumming.

Price Includes

  • All land transportation by private vehicle.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Kathmandu, Nepal

Welcome! To Kathmandu. Asian Heritage welcomes you at Tribhuvan International Airport. On arrival, our Tour Manager /Asian Heritage Representative will be waiting outside at the arrival area to welcome you and transfer you to the hotel. Check in to your sumptuous room at the luxury 4-star Hotel Yatri. Our representative will facilitate you and discuss your travel itinerary for this Spiritual Trekking in Nepal. There will be enough time to stroll through the streets of Thamel.

Day 2Spiritual places in Kathmandu (Kathmandu Durbar Square - Swayambhunath stupa - Pashupatinath Temple - Boudhanath Stupa)

On your second day of Spiritual Trekking in Nepal, you’ll visit the UNESCO World Heritage site, Kathmandu Durbar Square, along with the tour guide in a private vehicle. Observe the typical wood-carved temples and buildings reflecting ancient Kathmandu city. After that, we will be heading towards Swyambhunath- the monkey temple, where you can observe the religious harmony and tolerance between the Buddhist religion and the Hindu religion, along with enjoying the panoramic view of Kathmandu city.
Visit the Pashupatinath Temple, one of the biggest pilgrimage sites for the Hindu religion people in Southeast Asia, explore the surroundings, observe the ritual body cremating ceremony process of the Hindu people at the bank of the holy Bagmati river, and then visit another pilgrimage site nearby to the Pashupatinath Temple known as Guweyswori Temple, explore the UNESCO world heritage site Boudhanath Stupa.

Day 3Kathmandu to Dhunche via Trishuli, Drive (5-6 hours)

Today, we will drive you to Dhunche after having breakfast in the morning. You will see the beautiful hills and slopes on your to Dhunche. En route, you will see the river Trishuli. After arriving, you will explore the terraced farming and local culture of the village.

Day 4Dhunche to Sing Gompa (5-6 hours)

Today we will ascend to Sing Gompa. We will pass by rhododendron forests and lush vegetation. The trail passes through the largest mani wall, made from stone and with prayers written on it, the water mills, chortens, a sacred pile of rocks with various inscriptions carved on them, and many more. After crossing some rivers, we reach Sing Gompa. Here, you can test the cheese and curd made from Yak milk.

Day 5Sing Gompa to Lauri Binayak (4-5 hours)

The path is uphill for most of the day. After two hours of climbing, you’ll reach Chandan Bari. Here, have a rest and explore the Cheese factory. Afterward, start ascending for another 2-3 hours to finally reach Lauri Binayak.

Day 6Laure Binayak to Gosaikunda

The trail from Lauri Binayak to Gosaikunda is a very scenic one. On reaching the Buddhist Gompa, the trail is a little easier with regular ups and downs. After hiking for some time, you’ll get the first glimpse of Saraswati Kunda (One of 108 lakes around Gosaikunda) and followed by Bhairav Kunda or Naag Kunda. Later, you’ll reach the Gosaikunda village beside the Gosaikunda Lake. Gosaikunda is a holy site for both Buddhist and Hindu pilgrims, with hundreds of pilgrims coming here to worship and bathe during the full-moon festival every August.

Day 7Gosaikunda and Observe Shamanism

It is believed that if one prays and bathes in the Gosainkunda, one would get fulfilled wishes and salvation in life. Local dances such as Syabru, Mane, and the shamanism of the typical Tamang can be seen on the day. Shamans perform the tantric dance in their strange costumes, representing the ancient and medieval ages. You will participate in the festival for spiritual harmony and also about the shamanism culture in Nepal.

Day 8Gosaikunda to Chandanbari/Sing Gompa (5 hours)

Today, we descend to Chandanbari or Sing Gompa. You will see the amazing views of the Langtang Valley.

Day 9Sing Gompa to Dhunche (4-5 hours)

We will descend to the village of Dhunche. We will cross the suspension bridges and several forests for a 5-hour trek.

Day 10Dhunche to Kathmandu

Today we will drive you to Kathmandu, which takes about 6-7 hours. After arriving, check in at the hotel and take some rest.

Day 11Free Day in Kathmandu

Today is a free day for you in Kathmandu. You can spend your day on your activities or optional activities. You can have enough rest, or if you’re interested, you can go strolling around the streets of Thamel. Or you can go shopping for souvenirs for your friends and family.

Optional activities you can do on your free day:

  1. Everest Mountain flight by airplane (approx. 1 hour).
  2. Nepali food cooking workshop (approx. 3 hours).
  3. Pottery classes (approx. 30 minutes).
  4. Handicraft tour. (approx. 6 hours).

Includes: Breakfast, and an overnight accommodation at Yatri Suites & Spa or a similar hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 12Departure

Our representative will pick you up and drive you to Kathmandu. You will be advised and assisted with your onward travel arrangements and transfer to Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport by our private van around 3 hours before your flight schedule and flight back to your home/other travel destination.
