Best time to go for Annapurna Base Camp Trek:
The best time to visit is during the Spring (March-May) and Autumn (September-November) seasons when the weather is clear, and the skies are blue.

Itinerary

Day 1 Pokhara – Hile/Tikhedhunga – Ulleri (1,940m)/Banthati (2-hour drive), (3-hour hike)

We begin our trek by taking a private vehicle from Pokhara to Hile or Tikhedhunga, a journey of approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. Upon reaching Hile, we hiked for about 3 hours to reach our overnight stop in Ulleri. Alternatively, we can choose to stay overnight in Banthanti. Along the way to Ulleri, we pass through charming Nepali villages and picturesque terraced rice fields. The final part of the hike becomes more challenging as we ascend approximately 2,500 stone stairs.

Day 2Ulleri/Banthanti – Ghorepani (2,860m), (5-hour hike)

We head up to Ghorepani via a slightly easier trail, passing through amazing rhododendron and pine forests while crossing little bridges. Continuing our walk, we approach the beautiful, blue village of Ghorepani. After hours of trekking, we’ll reach the village in the late afternoon. From there, we can enjoy a fantastic view of the magnificent Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167 m).

Day 3Ghorepani – Poon Hill (3,210m) – Tadapani (2,630m) (6-hour hike)

We start our day very early in the morning to make our way to Poon Hill. From this vantage point, you can witness the breathtaking sunrise while taking in the stunning vistas of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Fishtail, and the entire Annapurna range. Following this mesmerizing sunrise experience, we return to Ghorepani, where our lodge awaits. We then continue our trek through enchanting rhododendron forests, meandering alongside untamed creeks and cascading waterfalls. Our next stop is at Banthati, where we take a break before resuming our journey, eventually arriving at Tadapani (2,590m) in the late afternoon.

Day 4Tadapani – Chhomrong (2,010m), (5-6-hours hike)

The trail takes us alongside terraced rice fields and many small settlements. We then descend to cross the Kimrung Khola before ascending to reach Chhomrong in the early afternoon. From Chhomrong, a breathtaking view of Fishtail and Annapurna South awaits us.

Day 5 Chhomrong – Bamboo (2,300m), (5-6-hour hike)

You’ll begin our hike with a steep descent until we cross the Chhomrong Khola. After the bridge, we ascend to reach Sinuwa. Following a brief break, we continue our walk along rocky steps. In the early afternoon, we arrive at the settlement of Bamboo (2,300 m). Bamboo is renowned for its abundant lemur colonies and its lodge nestled amidst the trees.

Day 6Bamboo – Deurali (3,220m), (5-6-hour hike)

We embark on our journey towards Deurali, passing through Dovan village and the charming Himalayan hotel. Along the way, we traverse enchanting rhododendron and bamboo forests. After a brief stop at Hotel Himalaya, we encounter a steep ascent into a drier, forested area. From this point, the trail descends closer to the river before ascending once more to reach Deurali at an elevation of 2920 meters.

Day 7Deurali – Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m), (5-6-hour hike)

As we continue our trek, the trail runs alongside the beautiful Modi Khola River. Along the way, we’re treated to an amazing view of the sacred Machapuchhre (Fishtail) mountain. After an ascent of approximately 40 minutes, we reach MBC.

Taking a moment to catch our breath, we then proceed with our hike towards ABC. The location of the Annapurna Base Camp is truly exceptional and offers a breathtaking spectacle. It is also known as the Annapurna Sanctuary due to its oval-shaped plateau. Upon reaching ABC, we are greeted by the majestic Annapurna I (8,091 m). The sunrise at this spot is truly awe-inspiring and well worth the journey.

Day 8ABC - MBC - Bamboo (7-hour hike)

We will find ourselves facing the majestic Annapurna I (8,091 m). The oval-shaped sanctuary provides breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. This morning will be etched in your memory forever. The sunrise and the panoramic views at ABC are unparalleled. Following breakfast at ABC, we return to MBC and then descend to Bamboo.

Day 9Bamboo – Jhinu Danda (1,780m), (7-8-hour hike)

After departing from Bamboo, we proceed along the familiar trail we previously took to reach Chhomrong. Continuing our journey, we descend steeply to a delightful spot known as Jhinu Danda. At the lodge, we safely store our belongings before heading down to enjoy a rejuvenating soak in the natural hot springs of the Modi Khola River.

Day 10Jhinudanda to Pokhara via Syauli (6-hour hike), (2-hour drive)

On the final day of the trek, we commence our journey through a stunning landscape adorned with numerous quaint villages. As we traverse this picturesque region, we delight in the diverse flora it offers and encounter a plethora of vibrant butterflies along the way. To reach Kyumi, we must trek for approximately ninety minutes, and then we continue our journey from Kyumi to Syauli Bazar.

From Syauli Bazaar, we proceed on a two-hour walk to reach Nayapul, marking the conclusion of our Annapurna Base Camp Trek. We reach Nayapul in the late afternoon, where we arrange for transportation back to Pokhara.
