Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Kathmandu

Welcome To Kathmandu Nepal! As you arrive, an Asian Heritage Treks & Travel representative will welcome you at the Airport with your nameplate. Then, you will immediately be transferred to the hotel. On the way to the Hotel, you will pass by the Open cremation Place (Pashupatinath temple), Royal Palace Museum i.e. Narayanhity, and Garden Of Dream before you reach Thamel. Your hotel will be downtown at Touristic Hub. Our representative will facilitate you and discuss your travel itinerary. There will be enough time to stroll through the street of Thamel.

Day 2Kathmandu to Dandagaun

Today, after enjoying a hearty breakfast, you will start your journey to Dandagaun. Our driver will accompany you as you make your way to Budhanilkantha. From there, one of our guides will join you to assist you on your journey to Dandagaun. Your adventure will involve a scenic walk from Budhanilkantha to Dandagaun, where you will pass through a national park. During your hike, you’ll come across a checkpoint where you’ll need to purchase tickets. Along the way, you’ll be treated to the sight of beautiful native flora as well as animals like deer, wild boars, and a variety of birds. Once you reach Dandagaun, the Ama Samuha, also known as the Mother’s Group, will extend a warm and culturally rich welcome. Afterward, you’ll be transferred to your accommodation, where you can take a rest for a while.

Day 3Hiking to Shivapuri Peak

On Day 3 of your Dandagaun Village Homestay Package, you’ll rise early to catch the mesmerizing sunrise before indulging in a hearty breakfast. Equipped with your daypack, filled with essentials like water, snacks, sunscreen, and a map, you’ll prepare for the main event which is a thrilling hike to Shivapuri Peak. Before setting off, your local guide will brief you on the day’s trek, emphasizing safety precautions and estimating the duration. As you begin your ascent, the captivating scenery, diverse flora, and glimpses of local wildlife will provide ample reasons to pause and soak in the surroundings. At the halfway point, a well-deserved break offers a chance to recharge and enjoy some snacks before continuing your journey. The trek becomes a bit steeper as you approach the peak, but the anticipation of reaching Shivapuri Peak and its breathtaking panoramic views keeps you motivated.

Day 4Rest Day

On the fourth day of your journey, the homestay provides a tranquil retreat following the exhilarating trek. As the morning unfolds, take strolls around the homestay’s surroundings, engaging in light stretching or yoga to rejuvenate both body and mind. Sip on local tea or coffee while immersing yourself in the serene ambiance. Lunch is a delightful affair, featuring traditional dishes bursting with local flavors. The afternoon is yours to embrace relaxation, cultural immersion through interactions with your hosts, or a brief exploration of the village. As evening approaches, gather with fellow guests and hosts, fostering connections through stories, cultural experiences, or friendly games. Dinner is another opportunity to savor regional culinary delights. After a day dedicated to rejuvenation and cultural enrichment.

Day 5Interaction with mother's group( Aama Samuha)

Day 5 of your Dandagaun Village Homestay Package begins with a yummy breakfast made by your homestay hosts. You’ll wear comfy clothes for a day of discovering cool stuff about local life and farming. First, you’ll chat with the Mother’s Group, amazing ladies in the village. They’ll show you around the village’s special farm, and you’ll learn how they grow food in a way that’s good for the environment. You’ll even get to help out with farm work like planting and picking. Lunch is a big meal where you can share stories with your new friends. In the afternoon, you’ll keep learning about farming, and there are fun activities about the local culture too. The day ends with stories and a tasty dinner. When it’s time to sleep in your homestay, you’ll think about all the neat things you learned and the nice people you met.

Day 6Volunteering at School

On Day 6, you’ll start with a hearty breakfast at your homestay to prepare for a day of community service. Wearing comfortable attire, you’ll head to the nearby local school where your volunteering journey begins. Collaborating with school staff, you’ll assist in classroom activities, educational support, or school maintenance. Interacting with the students, you’ll offer help with their studies or engage in interactive learning experiences. A break during mid-morning allows you to share snacks and connect with the students informally. Lunch is a communal affair, deepening your sense of community. The afternoon resumes with volunteering activities, focusing on areas that benefit the school and its students the most. If time permits, you may join extracurricular programs. As the day winds down, you’ll return to your homestay, reflecting on your rewarding day of volunteering.

Day 7Volunteering at School continue

Day 7  of your Dandagaun Village Homestay Package begins with a hearty breakfast at your homestay, preparing you for another impactful day of volunteering. In suitable attire and with the necessary supplies in hand, you return to the local school, ready to continue your efforts. Collaborating closely with school staff, your tasks range from teaching assistance and classroom support to school maintenance. Engaging with the students, you offer educational support and participate in interactive learning activities. Breaks throughout the day provide moments to connect with the students informally. Lunch is a communal affair, reinforcing the sense of community you’ve established. Afternoons bring a continuation of your volunteer work, focusing on projects aligned with the school’s needs. Back at your homestay, the evening is for reflection and relaxation, capped off with dinner and shared stories, celebrating the positive impact of your ongoing volunteer efforts.

Day 8Kathmandu Sightseeing

After a hearty breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye to your homestay and make your way to Kathmandu. Our driver will be ready to pick you up. Your first destination is the sacred Hindu site of Pashupati Nath, one of the biggest pilgrimage sites for the Hindu religious people in southeast Asia. You will explore the surroundings and observe the ritual body cremating ceremony process of the Hindu people. We can also visit another pilgrimage site near the Pashupatinath Temple i.e. Guweyswori Temple. Lastly, we will visit Boudhanath Stupa, another UNESCO world heritage site. The Stupa was built in 600 A.D. and is the only one of a kind of Stupa which reflects Buddhism in the world. We shall explore the surroundings of Boudhanath Stupa. After completing our sightseeing, you can get back to the hotel and enjoy some rest.

Day 9Departure

Your trip will come to an end today. You will be advised and assisted with your onward travel arrangements and transfer to Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport by our private van around 3 hours before your flight schedule and flight back to your home/other travel destination.
