Itinerary

Day 1Arrival In Kathmandu

Welcome to Kathmandu, Nepal. On arrival, Asian Heritage Representative will welcome you and take you to the hotel. Our representative will facilitate you and discuss your travel itinerary. There will be enough time to stroll through the streets of Thamel.
Accommodation: Overnight in Yatri Suites and Spa or similar in Kathmandu.

Day 2Drive from Kathmandu to Koshi Tappu National Park (Drive duration: 7 hours)

After having your breakfast our guide will pick you up from the hotel then you will drive to Koshi Tappu National Park. The Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve is a protected area in the Terai region of the eastern part of Nepal covering 175 km2 (68 sq mi) area of wetlands in the Sunsari, Saptari, and Udayapur Districts. It comprises extensive mudflats, reed beds, and freshwater marshes in the floodplain of the Sapta Kosi River, and ranges in altitude from 75 to 81 m (246 to 266 ft). You will have a full-day excursion in the reserve on a jeep and see the wild animals.

Day 3Explore Koshi Tappu National Park

Koshi Tappu is one of Asia’s finest wetlands and a fabulous bird-watching area that includes specialties such as Swamp Francolin, Red-necked Falcon, and Striated Marsh Warbler. At Chatara, you will visit the famous Barahi temple lying in the vicinity of Chatara dedicated to lord Vishnu. Chatara is an interesting place with various Nepal ethnic people of the lowlands, mid-hills, and mountain tribes who come here to visit the temple.

Day 4Koshi Tappu to Bhedetar (1420 m) (Drive duration: 5 hours)

Today you will move towards Bhedetar. Bhedetar is a viewpoint of the beautiful scenery of Koshi and the Himalayan ranges like Kumbhakarna and Makalu. The tour then goes to see the magnificent view of the valley seen from Bhedetar Tower which is also known as Charles Tower.

Day 5Bhedetar to Ilam (1200 m)

Today, you will drive to Ilam. Ilam is a beautiful hill station in eastern Nepal. It is popular for tea with many beautiful and lush tea gardens in the hills. Ilam offers an excellent getaway from city life for sunrise and sunset, a brisk walk in the tea garden, tranquil picnic & sightseeing stops, and short treks along gentle slopes. Antu Danda is situated at an altitude of 1677m in Ilam District. It is famous for its unique views of Everest and Kanchenjunga. It is the best point for viewing sunrise and sunset. There is also a motor road from Ilam to Chhipitar. Hiking along green hills takes 3 hours.

Day 6Ilam Sightseeing

In Ilam we will visit Mai Pokhari. Mai Pokhari is located at an altitude of 2438m. It is a famous place of pilgrimage in the Ilam district. Then we will visit Kanyam and Fikkal, these places have large tea land and these tea plantation areas are famous among tourists for picnicking, sightseeing, and taking photographs.

Day 7Ilam to Janakpur (Drive duration: 6/7 hours)

Today you will drive to Janakapur. This city is a center for religious and cultural tourism. This city is also known as Janakpurdham, which was founded in the early 18th century. Stroll through the ancient Mithila city to experience the Terai culture of southern Nepal and visit the Ram Janaki Temple. You can learn about the art and paintings of Mithila culture.

Day 8Janakpur to Kathmandu (Drive duration: 5/6 hours)

Today we will move towards the capital city in the early morning. After arriving you can take some rest and later on, go shopping, buy souvenirs for your friends and family. There will be enough time to stroll through the streets of Thamel.

Day 9Departure

Your trip will come to an end today after breakfast. You will be advised and assisted with your onward travel arrangements, and transferred to Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport by our private van, around 3 hours before your flight schedule and flight back to your home/other travel destination. Have a safe journey onwards.
