Everest Hidden Valley with Necha Village Trekking is one of the most exciting treks for adventure seekers. The trek takes you through the lower Everest Himalayas. Phaplu, Bogaldanda, Tuintar, Pattale, and Pikey Peak are all visited on this one-of-a-kind Everest hidden valley trek with the Necha village. This destination is situated in such a way that it is hidden from the outside world. Trekking from this trail offers breathtaking views of Cho Oyo, Everest, Makalu, and other ranges. The geography of this area includes rugged rocky valleys, alpine forests and meadows, tidy Sherpa villages, glaciers, and icefalls. As a result, it is widely regarded as the world’s most popular trekking route.

Pikey Peak also offers panoramic views of the mountains turning red with the early morning sunrise. This Everest hidden valley trek, combined with the Necha village trek, provides you with a comprehensive understanding of the villages in the mountain foothills and their hard-working lifestyles. Some places will greet you with artistic Tibetan-style chortens and Mani walls.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Kathmandu (1400m)

Welcome to Kathmandu, Nepal! An Asian Heritage Treks & Travel representative will welcome you at the airport with your nameplate. After your arrival at the Nepal airport, we will transfer you to the hotel.

On the way from the airport, you will pass by the Pashupatinath Temple, the Royal Palace Museum, i.e., Narayanhity, the Garden of Dreams, and the Thamel. Your hotel will be downtown at the tourist hub. Our representative will facilitate and discuss your travel itinerary. There will be enough time to stroll through the streets of Thamel.

Airport Pickup Tribhuvan International Airport

Day 2Kathmandu to Chalsa via Phaplu (2470m), (4-5-hour hike)

After having breakfast in the hotel, you will fly from Kathmandu to Phaplu, which takes around 40 minutes. From Phaplu, you will start trekking to reach Salleri, which is the headquarters of the Solukhumbu district. Here, you will have a short tea break. Salleri lies just above the river line, and you can have beautiful views of the valley and the surrounding area.

From Salleri, you hike to Chalsa, a Tibetan refugee village located on top of the hill. In Chalsa, you will have time to observe the local culture and lifestyle, along with the spectacular views of different peaks of the Himalayan range.

Day 3Chalsa to Bogal Danda (2120m), (5-6-hour hike)

Today, your hike is slowly downhill, and you will walk through several villages with some scattered houses. You also see the beautiful views of Makalu and Mera La, two giant mountains in the Everest region. Around mid-day, you’ll reach Nele, a local market area. You will have some rest in Nele and continue walking uphill to reach Bogal Danda.

Day 4Bogal Danda to Twentar (650m), (5-hour hike)

You will have your breakfast in the lodge and start walking down to Twentar. The full-day trek goes on from several villages of different ethnic groups prevailing in Nepal, such as the Rai, Chettri, Brahman, and Dalit communities. You will walk through a Sal forest while the trail goes up and down. During the trek, you can hear the natural chant of rivers and streams.

The jungle is a natural habitat for monkeys, deer, cheetahs, and bears; sometimes you might co-inside with any of them on the way. You will reach the riverside in the afternoon, which lies just 490 meters above sea level. This area is a famous spot for fishing. If you are interested, you can try to catch a fish or just relax and go for a swim.

Day 5Twentar to Necha Village (1720m), (5-hour hike)

Today, you will start ascending through the beautiful jungle to reach the higher lands of the Himalayas. In the afternoon, you will reach Necha and explore the local people’s village, their lifestyle, and the surrounding environment. Necha is a village that offers beautiful mountain views.

Day 6Rest Day in Necha Village

Today is your rest day in Necha Village. You can rest, relax, and explore the village along with the hospital. Afterward, you can visit the houses of local people and enjoy the food they offer, showcasing their hospitality. Here, you will get adequate time to interact with local people.

You can also explore the features of the local attitude and behavior and the challenges of living in an isolated mountain area of Nepal. Every Thursday, local people organize a market in which they buy and sell local and imported products. You might get the opportunity to visit the local market if the trip falls on a Thursday.

Day 7Necha to Gairi (2200m), (4-hour hike)

You will have your breakfast in Necha Village before starting to walk down to Gairi. Later, you will walk through farmer’s villages and fields, enjoying the natural surroundings along with the mountain views of some of the mountains. You will reach Gairi in the afternoon. Gairi is a village with the scattered settlements of the Tamang and Newar communities. Here you can observe the culture and explore the village in the evening.

Day 8Gairi to Pattale (2650m), (5-hour hike)

In the morning, you will commence walking uphill to reach Pattale. The trek will take you from deeply embedded forests to the grasslands and the grazing fields of local Yaks. This area is one of the colder zones among the places you will go through during the trek. In the afternoon, you’ll reach Pattale village, known for its beautiful mountain viewpoint.

Day 9Pattale to Pikey Base Camp (3450m), (6-hour hike)

You will leave Pattale and head towards the Pike Base Camp. Later, you will walk to the top of the hill through rhododendron and juniper forests, offering great views of the valley or mountains. On the way, there are just a few small villages. In the evening, you will reach Pike Base Camp. Here, you can see numerous Yak houses that can serve you Yak milk.

Day 10Summit Pikey (4047m) and return to Base Camp (1.5-hour hike)

Today, you will climb Pike Peak. You’ll hike from the base camp to the summit, and at the summit, you can see the world’s highest mountain, Mount Everest. At this point, the guide will tell you about the mountain and other ranges. You will also have an amazing panorama view of the greater Himalayas. Afterwards, you will return to the base camp, and you can spend the remaining time relaxing or exploring the area.

Day 11Pike Base Camp to Tamakhani (2240m) (6-7-hour hike)

You will have your breakfast in the camp and commence walking to reach Tamakhani. Later, you will pass through several villages and see the lifestyle of the local population on the way to Tamakhani.

Day 12 Tamakhani to Phaplu (6-7-hour hike)

Today is the last day of your trekking. You will move to Phaplu from Tamakhan. Upon your arrival in Phaplu, you will check in at the lodge, where you will get facilities like a good room, a nice hot shower, a choice of foods, etc.

Day 13Flight Phaplu-Kathmandu (40 minutes)

You will have your breakfast in the lodge and then you will move towards the Phaplu airport to fly back to Kathmandu.Later, if the sky is clear, you might see some of the mountain ranges. Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel. You can use the remaining time of your day to rest and relax or explore the streets of Kathmandu.

Day 14Free Day in Kathmandu

Today, you have a full day to either explore the city or freshen up yourself. You can visit one of the major temples in Kathmandu: Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, or Swayambhunath Stupa. Also, you can have a look at the mesmerizing temples in Durbar Square or wander the streets of Old Town.

Furthermore, you can engage in strolling around the tourist hotspot Thamel and shop for souvenirs, handicrafts, or tokens of love for your loved ones. This marks the end of Everest Hidden Valley with Necha Village.

Day 15Departure

Your trip will come to an end today. Our representative will pick you up with a private van and drop you off at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport approximately three hours before your scheduled flight back to your home or other destination.
