Tour Details

Ghorepani PoonHill Trek, also known as the Poonhill Trek, passes through culturally rich villages such as Ghorepani, Ghandruk, Tikhedhunga, etc. Along with a sunrise view over Annapurna Mountain, the Poonhill trek also offers panoramic views of several mountains, including Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Mountains.

Heading north of Pokhara, we will take one one-hour of drive to Nayapul. We will leave the wide pitch-black road and follow off the beaten trekking trail. Overall, this trail passes through the rivers, dense rhododendron forest, and Gurung settlements to Poonhill. Along with the sunrise view, one can awaken spiritual feelings in the tranquil Annapurna region.

•    Poonhill is famous for its magnificent panoramic view. Poonhill is a vantage point famous for its sunrise over the Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri range, and others.

Price Includes

  • All land transportation by private vehicle.
  • 2-night accommodation in 4* Yatri Suites and Spa or similar in Kathmandu on breakfast basis.
  • 2- Night in Hotel White Pearl or similar in Pokhara including breakfast only.
  • 4- Night in Lodge accommodation during treks room basis only
  • An experienced, English speaking and government-licensed holder trekking guide.
  • All porter services (one porter can carry 18 kilo of luggage and share between two clients. So both clients are suggested to bring 9 kilo of luggage each) .

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Kathmandu

Our representative will be waiting outside the airport to welcome you with our nameplate at the airport. Then, we will drive you to the hotel and take a rest. We will have a short discussion about the itinerary about your Ghorepani PoonHill Trek.

Day 2Kathmandu to Pokhara

Today, we drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. On the way, you can enjoy the greenery around you and the beautiful hills. What attracts most visitors to Pokhara is the richness of the valley with its pure and natural beauty. Just imagine the joy of observing the majestic Himalayas, reflecting its shadow on Fewa Lake and the cleanness of Pokhara city.

Day 3Pokhara to Tikhedhunga (1540 m/3-4 hours)

Our trekking guide will come to pick you up from your hotel in a private vehicle and transfer you to the trek commencing point, Nayapul (1050m). You will start walking through the old villages and meandering green hills on your third day of Ghorepani PoonHill Trek. Terraced paddy fields along the neighboring yet distant hills and the wind gushing in your face make for a pleasant and smooth drive with much time to enjoy the landscape. Continue walking through the easy trail which passes along paddy fields to Tikhedhunga.

Day 4Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2750m/6-7 hours)

Getting back on the trail, you will be rising up at a slow and gentle pace, passing through Ulleri (2070m). There are lots of opportunities to interact with the locals and learn, understand, and get pure experience about their lifestyle. Along the way, one can enjoy the majestic view of Machhapuchhre (6997m), Huinchuli (6441m), and Annapurna South (7219m) and the world’s largest rhododendron forest.
Accommodation: Overnight in a local lodge.

Day 5Ghorepani to Tadapani(2650m) via Poon Hill (3210m/6-7 hours)

Today, you will visit Poonhill, a vantage point, and head to Tadapani. You will begin the trek to Poon Hill (3210 m) in the early morning to catch the first ray of sunlight. The pleasant sunrise at Poonhill trek passes through culturally rich villages that are set against the background of majestic mountains. Along with a sunrise view over Mt. Annapurna, Poonhill also offers panoramic views of several mountains including Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Mountains. You will return and have your breakfast at Ghorepani, and then commence the trek to Tadapani (2650 m). The trek will begin through the thick forest of rhododendrons, bamboo, and oaks. One can observe and appreciate nature’s beauty; waterfalls, rocks, wild animals, birds, and green valleys.

Day 6Tadapani to Ghandruk (2000m/3-4 hours)

Start trekking through jungle areas as you will pass through different villages, jungles, and streams. After continuous walking for 3 to 4 hours, you will see the beautiful Gurung village, which is called Ghandruk. This place will be a stopover for tonight. Use your remaining time to explore, interact with the locals and visit the home of the Gurung people (an ethnic group of Nepal with unique culture and traditions). This place also provides a fantastic view of the mountains like Annapurna South, Hiuchuli, Fishtail, and many more.

Day 7Ghandruk to Pokhara

Today is your last day of Ghorepani PoonHill Trek. After having breakfast in the lodge, you will commence walking downhill to Nayapul, where you will catch the vehicle and return back to Pokhara. Your walking will be quiet easily than that of the previous days. As you reach Nayapul, you will catch the vehicle and drive back to Pokhara and your tour ends here.

Day 8Pokhara to Kathmandu (6-7 hours)

You will drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu on your seventh day of Ghorepani PoonHill Trek. On the way, you can see the beautiful hills and slopes. Later, you can stroll through the streets of Thamel for shopping. You can also buy souvenirs for your friends and family. Overnight accommodation in a hotel.

Day 9Departure

Your trip will come to an end today after breakfast. You will be advised and assisted with your onward travel arrangements and transfer to Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport by our private van around 3 hours before your flight schedule and flight back to your home/other travel destination. Have a safe journey onwards.
