Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Kathmandu

Welcome to Kathmandu, Nepal! An Asian Heritage Treks and Travels representative will welcome you at the airport with your nameplate. After your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, we will transfer you to the hotel. On the way from the airport to the hotel, you will pass by the Pashupatinath Temple, the Royal Palace Museum, i.e., Narayanhiti, the Garden of Dreams, and reach Thamel. Your hotel will be in the downtown area of the tourist hub. Our representative will facilitate and discuss your travel itinerary. There will be enough time to stroll through the streets of Thamel.

Day 2Sightseeing in Kathmandu

Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Kathmandu Durbar Square, along with the tour guide in a private vehicle. Observe the typical wood-carved temples and buildings reflecting the ancient Kathmandu city. After that, we will be heading towards Swayambhunath. The Monkey Temple is where you can observe the religious harmony and tolerance between the Buddhist religion and Hindu religion, along with enjoying the panoramic view of Kathmandu city.

Visit the Pashupatinath Temple, one of the biggest pilgrimage sites for Hindus in South Asia. Explore the surroundings; observe the ritual body cremating ceremony process of the Hindu people at the bank of the holy Bagmati river. Then visit another pilgrimage site nearby, the Pashupatinath Temple, known as Guweyswori Temple. Explore the surroundings, and then you will go to visit another UNESCO World Heritage Site, Boudhanath Stupa. It was built in 600 A.D. and is one of a kind of stupa reflecting Buddhism in the world. Explore the surroundings of Boudhanath Stupa, and after completing your sightseeing, get back to the hotel and rest.

Day 3Drive to Pokhara (7-8-hour drive)

After a delightful breakfast, you will embark on a scenic private transport drive to the enchanting city of Pokhara. The journey will take you through picturesque landscapes, with the majestic Himalayas as your backdrop. Upon arrival in Pokhara, you’ll check into your comfortable hotel, where you can unwind and rejuvenate after the road trip. Take in the breathtaking views of Phewa Lake and the Annapurna Range from your accommodation, and perhaps enjoy a stroll around the serene lakeside.

Pokhara Valley

Day 4Sightseeing in Pokhara

Today, you will start off with an early drive to Sarangkot to capture the tranquil and magical view of the city before sunrise. You will see the first rays of sunlight hitting the mountains in the background. Sarangkot offers panoramic views of Annapurna, Fishtail, Dhaulagiri, and other mountains. You will be visiting the World Peace Stupa, which is almost an hour away from Pokhara and lies on the top of the hill.

After reaching it, you will get to see the spectacular panoramic views of the mountains on your north and west. Annapurna, Nilgiri, Glacier Dome, Fishtail Mountain, and the Dhaulagiri mountain ranges can be seen from this place. After enjoying this view, you will visit Devi’s Fall, Gupteswor Cave, Seti George, Mahendra Cave, the Mountain Museum, and the Tibetan Refugee Camp. Also visit Barahi Temple, situated at the center of Phewa Lake. After completing your sightseeing, get back to the hotel and have a rest.

Day 5Drive from Pokhara to Chitwan (4-5-hour drive)

Continuing your trip, you will be heading towards Chitwan, which is situated in the south-west direction. It is almost 160 kilometers away from Pokhara. On the way, you will get to see many small shops and a mini-market. As you get nearer to Chitwan, you can notice the forest section getting dense throughout your way.

After reaching Chitwan, check in at the hotel and rest for a while. Later on, you can stroll around the local market and streets in Chitwan. In the evening, you will be escorted to the Tharu cultural program show, enjoy the program, and get back to the hotel.

Day 6Activities in Chitwan

Start your whole-day sightseeing tour. Firstly, you will have a jungle safari by Jeep. You will enter the community forest section to view the one-horned rhino and some other wild animals like wild boar, deer, leopard, and others. After that, you will cross the Rapti River to get into the skirt of the main national park area.

If it’s your lucky day, then you will get to see the Royal Bengal Tiger in the highland area, where the bushes are as high as 5–6 feet. Along with that, you will be able to see wild elephants and other wild animals as well. After completing your jungle safari tour, get back to the hotel and have your lunch. Later on, you can go for a guided tour around the Tharu village. You will go canoeing on the Rapti River, where you can observe the Marsh Mugger and Gharial crocodiles resting by the side of the Rapti River in Chitwan. After completing your sightseeing tour, get back to the hotel and have a rest.

Chitwan National Park

 

Day 7Bird-Watching in Chitwan and Drive to Kathmandu (5-6-hour drive)

Get up early in the morning, and our tour guide will take you around the Rapti Riverbank for bird watching. Chitwan is one of the best places for bird watching in the world. Many students and researchers used to visit Chitwan to study the birds around here. Our tour guide will explain to you about the different species of birds and how they migrate in the winter season from a different part of the world to Chitwan, Nepal.

Later on, visit the Elephant and Crocodile Breeding Center, where you can observe the life cycle of these animals and how the National Park is saving them, then head back to Kathmandu, which is about 170 kilometers away from Chitwan. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your respective hotel and have a rest. In the evening, you can stroll around the downtown area of Thamel. Or you can go shopping for souvenirs for your friends and family.
