Our company, Asian Heritage Treks & Expeditions, has prepared the Gurung Hill Trek where you’ll visit major Gurung/Ghale villages across the Lamjung and Kaski districts of Nepal. During the program, you’ll explore the village of Thunsikot, Pas Gaon, Bhujung, and Ghale Gaon which are the nerve center of the Gurung community and are famous for spectacular mountain vistas, hilly landscapes, terraced farmlands, forests, rivers, and local rituals. During the Gurung Hill trek, you get the chance to enjoy the local cuisine, home-brewed alcohols, lifestyle, and traditional folk songs which will definitely make your trip memorable.

  • 1-night hotel accommodation at Hotel Crystal palace or similar in Pokhara including breakfast.

  • 6-nights accommodation throughout the trek on lcoal lodge on room only basis.
  • As mentioned the hotel accommodations are a twin-sharing basic.

  • An experienced, English-speaking and government-licensed holder trekking guide.
  • One Professional Trekking guide and one porter (one porter can carry 18 kilos of luggage and share between two clients. So both clients are suggested to bring 9 kilos of luggage each)

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Kathmandu (1400m)

Upon your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, Our representative will be there to meet, greet and assist you. After, you will be transferred to your confirmed hotel. You can spend the remaining time refreshing yourself after the flight or wander around in Kathmandu.
Accommodation: Overnight inYatri Suites & Spa or similar at Kathmandu.

Day 2Free day in Kathmandu

Today is your free day in Kathmandu. After having breakfast in the hotel you have multiple options to spend the day, Kathmandu is a diverse and cultural city and has plenty to offer. You can visit (one of) the three most important religious sites: Swyamambhunath (also known as the monkey temple), Pashupatinath temple (one of the biggest pilgrimage sites for the Hindu religion) and/or Boudhanath Stupa (a one of a kind stupa reflecting Buddhism in the world). Furthermore, you can wander around the streets of Old Town or search for souvenirs or tokes of love for your friends, relatives or family.

Swayambhu

Day 3Kathmandu to Pokhara (827m) driving duration: 6-7 hours

Have your breakfast in the morning before you head towards Pokhara by car. Pokhara also called the lake city, is a peaceful place around 200 kilometers west of Kathmandu. Along the highway, you can enjoy exciting views of rivers and different landscapes. Upon arrival in Pokhara, Check in to the hotel and have some rest. Later in the afternoon, you can stroll around the lakeside streets of Pokhara or explore the bank of Phewa Lake.
Accommodation: Overnight in Batika Classic Hotel or similar at Pokhara.

Drive to Pokhara

Day 4Pokhara to thunsikot (2000m) driving duration: 1 hours & hiking duration: 4-5 hours

After having your breakfast, check out from the hotel, and then we start our drive to BijayapurKhola. From there we start our hike through flat paddy fields for about an hour before we cross the river. After the river, the trail starts to ascend to Kalikasthan. On reaching Kalikasthan, we drive to Thunsikot, where we spend the night.

Day 5Thunsikot to Pass Gaon (1652m) hiking duration: 5-6 hours

After having breakfast, we begin our trail to Pasgaun. We start hiking along a straight, plain steep trail. Pasgaun is a beautiful village located in the Lamjung district and has preserved its long history, its culture, delicacies, and architecture. Enjoy your remaining time roaming around the village and experiencing the culture.
Accommodation: Overnight in available local lodges in Pas Gaon.

 

Day 6Pas Gaon to Bhujung (1700m) hiking duration 5-6

After having breakfast, we head towards KhumeruDanda (2200 m). From KhumeruDanda, you can enjoy the stunning views of the Himalayan ranges including Mt. Manaslu, HimalChuli, NgagiChuli, Bhujung village, and BoudhaHimal. After the visit to KhumeruDanda, we move along a dense forest and descend to the Midim River. You can visit the small hydropower station located next to the river. After the visit, we hike for around 30 minutes to reach Bhujung, where more than 400 Gurung families reside. Enjoy the rich culture and interact with the local residents later in the day.

Day 7Bhujung to Ghale Gaon (2095m) hiking duration: 3-4 hours

Today, we trek to the famous GhaleGaun. In GhaleGaun. We visit the long-established Gale and Gurung villages followed by the famous viewpoint from where various stunning mountain views can be witnessed. some views you can see during a clear day form this point include the LamjungHimal range, the Annapurna range, and the Manaslu mountain range.
Accommodation: Overnight in homestay/lodge in Ghalegaon.

Day 8Ghale Gaon to Gaan Pokhara (1780m) hiking duration: 1 hour

Today, we have a leisure day. After breakfast, we explored Ghana Pokhara, which is a large Gurung village. surrounding this village, we will have the privilege of the scenic beauty of the river valley. Especially during the sunset, the valley offers magnificent views of the Mt. Annapurna and Manaslu ranges.
Accommodation: Overnight in an available local lodge at Ghan Pokhara.

Day 9Ghan Pokhara to Khudi (790m) hiking duration: 5-6 hours

Early in the morning, we leave GhanPokhara and head towards our next destination, Khudi village. Along today’s trail, we will visit a beautiful waterfall and a cave. Furthermore, you can visit the construction site of the Khudi Hydroelectricity project.
Accommodation: Overnight in an available local lodge in Khudi.

Day 10Drive back to Kathmandu, driving duration: 7 hours

Today, we will make our way back to Kathmandu. After having breakfast, we’ll head towards Kathmandu which is about 220 kilometers away. During the drive, you can enjoy the views of the villages, Trishuli River, rice terraces, mountain ranges, and much more. On reaching Kathmandu, check in to the hotel and have some rest or stroll around downtown Thamel.

Day 11Departure

Today is the last day of your Nepal program. After having breakfast, you will pack your luggage, get fresh and check out from the hotel. You will be transferred to the International airport by one of our representatives to catch the flight for your onward destination.
