Itinerary

Day 1Arrival at Kathmandu

Welcome to Kathmandu, Nepal!
When you land at the airport, our Aisan Heritage Treks and Travels representative will be there to greet you with a sign/ board displaying our company’s name. They will take your luggage and guide you to our private vehicle, which will drive you to your hotel. You will pass by the Open Cremation Place (Pashupatinath temple), the Royal Palace Museum i.e. Narayanhity, Garden Of Dream, and reach the Thamel on the way to your Hotel. Your hotel will be downtown at Touristic Hub. Our representative will facilitate you and discuss your travel itinerary regarding your Island Peak Climbing with Everest Base Camp. There will be enough time to stroll through the street of Thamel.

Day 2Fly to Lukla (2800m) & trek to Phakding (2652m)

On your second day of Island Peak Climbing with Everest Base Camp, you will take a flight from TIA to Tenzing-Hillary Airport at Lukla in Solukhumbu. Firstly, the flight takes you over the Himalayas, providing you with a breathtaking panoramic view of the higher mountains. Notably, you can spot the famous Mt. Everest, standing there with its snow-covered peak in all its glory. Upon arrival at the airport, the Sherpa crew will promptly unload our trekking equipment. Additionally, our guide will offer a comprehensive briefing. Furthermore, they will introduce the porters before we commence our trek towards Phakding.

Day 3Phakding to Namche bazaar (3440m)

After breakfast, you will walk through beautiful pine forests, followed by a journey along the Dudh Koshi River, culminating at Namche Bazaar. Approximately an hour into your walk, you’ll come across the glistening Mt. Thamserku (6,608 m) on your right, while also experiencing the serenity of pine, fir, and juniper forests throughout the journey. If the weather is clear, you might even catch a glimpse of Mt. Everest peering over the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge. Moreover, continue walking until you reach the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park. Namche Bazaar serves as the gateway to Mt. Everest and is the primary trading center of this region. During this day, you’ll cross five suspension bridges, with the last one being the highest, known as the Hillary Bridge. The uphill walk from Hillary Bridge to Namche Bazaar awaits you.

Exploring Phakding

Day 4Rest day at Namche bazaar

On the Fourth day of your Island Peak Climbing with Everest Base Camp, you will have a rest day at Namche Bazaar, also known as the Sherpa Capital. Use your time to acclimatize, relax, and explore the surrounding places. Most trekkers prefer to wake up before sunrise to view the magnificent sights of Mount Everest, Thamserku, Amadablam, and other glorious peaks from the Sagarmatha National Park. You can have a chance to observe the shadow of the mountains projected onto the clouds above, truly appreciating their magnitude. To experience the local culture, be sure to try the salt-butter tea and Champa – a type of barley often enjoyed by the Sherpas in the region.

Day 5Namche bazaar to Tengboche (3860m)

On the fifth day of your Everest Base Camp trek, you’ll make your way from the village of Namche Bazaar to Tengboche. While this day presents one of the most challenging aspects of the trek in terms of elevation gain, it will also be the most rewarding. You’ll have the opportunity to take in the breathtaking views of the Everest Mountain Range.

Day 6Tengboche to Dingboche (4,410m)

In the morning, we visit the Tengboche monastery. The trail then winds through a beautiful coniferous forest before descending to Debuche, where we cross the Imja River. Our next destination is Pangboche, where we will explore the local monastery. Afterward, we continue our journey by descending into the river valley and then begin our ascent to Dingboche.

Day 7Dingboche to Lobuche

We will begin our trek and follow the path to Everest Base Camp. The uphill journey from Thukla to Memorial Park is the most challenging section of the trail leading to Everest Base Camp. This route offers breathtaking views of nature’s beauty along the way. You will also encounter numerous prayer flags left by courageous mountaineers. After reaching Lobuche, which is the second-highest village on the EBC route, consider spending the night there.

Day 8Trek to Everest Base Camp (5365m.) then returning back to Gorakshep (5180m.)

Due to the climate at that altitude, the path leading to Gorakshep is sparse. Along the way, the route will be blanketed by snow. From this high vantage point, you can enjoy unbelievable panoramic views of Mt. Everest and its neighboring peaks. After reaching Gorakshep, you can look forward to a well-deserved rest. However, if you have the energy, you can also visit Everest base camp on the same day. There, you’ll be treated to a breathtaking display of nature in its finest and rawest form: an incredible view of the Khumbu Glacier Valley.

Day 9Hike to Kala Patthar for sun rise view( 5450m) and return back to Dingboche

Early in the morning, you will head to your next destination, Kala Patthar, standing at 5450m (Kala meaning black and Patthar meaning rock). This journey offers a fantastic opportunity to witness the breathtaking sunrise from the mountain’s summit. From this vantage point, you can also behold Pumori Mountain, situated just behind the rugged hills. Following the challenging hike, you’ll return to Gorakshep, where you can enjoy a hearty breakfast and take some time to rest before resuming your descent towards Dingboche, where you can look forward to a restful night’s sleep.

Day 10Dingboche to Chukhung

Today, we will embark on a journey to Chhukung Valley via the Imja Khola region, allowing us to enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding mountains. Our focus will be on the magnificent south wall of Lhotse, ensuring an unforgettable experience.

Day 11Chukhung to Island Peak Base Camp

The trek to Island Peak Base Camp presents a challenging ascent. Initially, we climb southward and then follow a winding path. After that, our journey continues along a picturesque streamside route. A meandering path through Imja and Lhotse glacier moraines eventually brings us to the majestic Island Peak.

Day 12Pre-climb training on island peak base camp

After breakfast, you will receive training in peak climbing techniques and the use of essential climbing gear like ice-axes, climbing boots, crampons, harnesses, ascenders, and more. While it’s not obligatory, this training can prove highly beneficial.

Day 13Island Peak Base Camp to Island Peak Summit (6,189 m)

On your thirteenth day of the Island Peak Climbing expedition, we will rise early around midnight, and enjoy breakfast before commencing our ascent. It is essential to reach the summit before noon to account for potential high winds. After savoring the breathtaking summit vistas, we will descend to the base camp of Island Peak.

Day 14Island Peak Base Camp to Tengboche (3,985 m)

Today, we will descend from Island Peak Base Camp to Tengboche. The journey includes a trekking route that passes through several stunning landscapes, providing breathtaking views of the Himalayan range. After a short break in Pangboche, the trek proceeds to the picturesque Tengboche, which typically takes around 2 to 3 hours.

Day 15Tengboche to Namche Bazaar

The trail winds its way down through a forested area before leading to a suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River. After crossing this waterway, the path then ascends steeply toward Namche Bazaar, a vibrant town and the entry point to the Everest region. Along your journey, you’ll traverse several charming villages and immerse yourself in the local culture and way of life.

Day 16Namche Bazaar to Lukla

Following breakfast, you will continue your trek through the Chumoa village, a picturesque destination for your midday meal. After enjoying lunch, your journey will take you along the riverside to Phakding before proceeding towards Lukla. After a few hours of walking, you will arrive in Lukla, where you can immerse yourself in the local culture and lifestyle. Upon reaching Lukla, we will collectively reflect on our time as a group and acknowledge the personal achievements of all those who participated in the trek.

Day 17Fly to Kathmandu

Enjoy your final view of the mountains you have recently visited. The flight to Kathmandu departs before 10:00 a.m., which may vary depending on weather conditions. Upon arriving in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 18Departure

Our representative will pick you up and drive you to Kathmandu. You will be advised and assisted with your onward travel arrangements and transfer to Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport by our private van around 3 hours before your flight schedule and flight back to your home/other travel destination.
