This one-day Kathmandu Heritage tour provides an insight into rich culture and architecture, still untouched and provides the feel of cultural epitome. Prepared for the visitors that have less time and want to explore the UNESCO world heritage site, we visit 5 of them: Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Patan Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, and Boudhanath Stupa. These sites have the importance of spiritual and cultural to both Hindu and Buddhist religions.
In the morning around 8 A.M., our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in our private vehicle and drive you to Swayambhunath – The Monkey Temple. Then, visit the Kathmandu Durbar Square where you can observe the typical wood-carved temples and buildings reflecting the ancient Kathmandu city.
Afterward, you’ll head to Patan also known as “The City of Fine Arts”. In Patan, you will be visiting other UNESCO World Heritage sites: Krishna Temple and Patan Durbar Square. Later on, visit the Patan Museum, where you can learn more about the history of Patan and the kings who reigned here.
Later, visit the Golden Temple, a major attraction for both Hindu and Buddhist people. After that, you will be visiting the Pashupatinath Temple, one of the biggest pilgrimage sites for the Hindu religion people in south-east Asia, explore the surroundings and you can observe the ritual body cremating ceremony process of the Hindu people at the bank of the holy Bagmati river and then visit another pilgrimage site nearby to the Pashupatinath Temple known as Guweyswori Temple. Explore the surroundings and then you will go to visit another UNESCO world heritage site Boudhanath Stupa. It was built in 600A.D. and is the only one of a kind of stupa reflecting Buddhism in the world.
Explore the surroundings of Boudhanath Stupa. After completing your sightseeing, you will be transferred to your hotel which marks the end of our Kathmandu Heritage Tour.
