Mohare Danda trek takes you to the peaceful beaten path in Annapurna’s foothills. Mohare Danda Trek is a newly discovered hiking route in the Annapurna region. It promotes sustainable ecotourism in Nepal. You can play a pivotal role to uplift the lifestyle of native Himalayan inhabitants. 

This Mohare Danda trek is popularly known as Eco-Community Lodge Trek. It is the ideal option for enthusiasts who wish to explore the unlimited natural and cultural beauties of Nepal. Mohare Danda trek provides the closest view of Mount Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. 

Mohare Hill station is sited at an elevation of 3,300m above sea level. You can view the glorious sunrise and sunset views over the glittering mountains. The viewpoint of Poonhill is another famous part of the trek. A trip to the off-beaten site of the Annapurna region is truly an incredible experience. You get to explore the hills, mountains, rivers, and forests of Oaks, Bamboo, and Pine.

How to reach Mohare Danda

Moahre Danda Trek begins from Kathmandu and we travel for about 5-6 hours to arrive at Pokhara. From Pokhara, we drive 3 hours to reach Galeshwor in Myagdi District. From Galeshwor, we walk toward Bans Kharka which is a stunning local village with terraced corn and rice farming. On our route toward our final destination, we hike to Naangi from Bans Kharka. You pass along beautiful villages and impressive landscapes. From Naangi we trek forward Mohare Danda (3,300m) as we pass along the oak and rhododendron forests. Observe a breathtaking panoramic view of Mt Fishtail, Annapurna South, and Mt Dhaulagiri. In the evening, we can observe the sunset from Mohare Danda station. The hike from Mohare Danda to reach Ghorepani will take us 5-6 hours. You’ll pass along tea houses from where you can enjoy the view of the Himalayas and a cup of hot tea. Early in the morning, we hike to Poon Hill, to catch the sunrise from the top of the hill. You’ll be fascinated by the view of sun kissing the Mt Annapurna, Mt Dhaulagiri, and many others. After enjoying the sunrise from Poon Hill we trek towards, Ghandruk. Ghandruk is the home of Gurung Inhabitants with beautiful communes and happy people. From Ghandruk, hike to Nayapul, as it is the last of our trek. You’ll follow the trails paved with stones and walk through beautiful terrain. Enjoy a stunning view of the Himalayas as we hike to Nayapul. From Nayapul, we drive to Pokhara and from Pokhara to Kathmandu. 

Best time to trek Mohare Danda

The best time to trek the Mohare Danda is Spring (March–May) and Autumn (September – November) with cool temperatures and clear blue skies. 
It is also possible to hike in December and January but be thoughtful about the weather and snowy climate.

Day 1Arrival In Kathmandu, Nepal

Welcome To Kathmandu Nepal!
As you arrive, Asian Heritage Treks & Travel representative will welcome you at the Airport with your nameplate. Then, you shall immediately be transferred to the hotel. On the way to Hotel, you will pass by the Open cremation Place (Pashupatinath temple), Royal Palace Museum i.e. Narayanhity, and Garden Of Dream before you reach Thamel. Your hotel will be downtown at Touristic Hub. Our representative will facilitate you and discuss your travel itinerary. There will be enough time to stroll through the street of Thamel.

Day 2Sightseeing In Kathmandu Valley - Kathmandu Durbar Square - Swyambhunath Stupa - Pashupatinath Temple - Boudhanath Stupa

After Breakfast, our tour guide will pick you up along with the driver and a vehicle. Firstly you will visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, a UNESCO world heritage site where you can observe the typical wood-carved temples and buildings reflecting the ancient Kathmandu city. 
Afterward, we will head towards Swyambhunath- the monkey temple where you can observe the panoramic view of Kathmandu city. Then after, you will visit the Pashupatinath Temple, one of the biggest pilgrimage sites for the Hindu religion people in south-east Asia. 
You will explore the surroundings and observe the ritual body cremating ceremony process of the Hindu people. We can also visit another pilgrimage site nearby the Pashupatinath Temple i.e. Guweyswori Temple. Lastly, we will visit Boudhanath Stupa, another UNESCO world heritage site. The stupa was built in 600 A.D. and is the only one of kind of Stupa which reflects Buddhism in the world. We shall explore the surroundings of Boudhanath Stupa. After completing our sightseeing, you can get back to the hotel and enjoy some rest.

Day 3Kathmandu To Pokhara Drive Duration: 5-6 Hours

Today, we will drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. On the way, you can enjoy the greenery of the beautiful hills. Pokhara is rich with its pure and intact natural beauty. Just imagine the joy of observing the shadow of the Himalayas reflecting on Fewa Lake. The valley is equally outstanding with elevated close-ups of the snowy peaks. Pokhara is famous for sightseeing, mountain views, and many adventurous outdoor activities. We will visit David’s Waterfall, Gupteswor Mahadev, and International Mountain Museum.

Day 4Drive From Pokhara To Galeshwor & Hike To Bans Kharka (1525 M), Driving Duration: 3 Hours, Hiking Duration: 3 Hours

In the morning, our team will pick you up from the hotel and transfer you to Galeshwor. It lies along the bank of the Kali Gandaki River. You need to trek for about 3 hours from Bans Kharka to Guleshow. On the way, you will be crossing the suspension bridge over the deepest gorge of the Kali Gandaki River. Then your path will take you through the lush green forest. After some decent hike, you will reach bans Kharka.

Day 5Trek To Naangi (2230 M), Hiking Duration: 7 Hours

Our destination for the day is Naangi. It is about a 6 to 7 hours walk from Bans Kharka to reach Naangi. You pass along the beautiful villages as you enjoy the stunning views of mountains and impressive landscapes. Today, you can also visit the organic farm school and Magar Settlement.

Day 6Trek To Mohare Danda (3300 M), Hiking Duration: 7 Hours

Continuing our trekking, we reach our destination i.e. Mohare Danda. The trail goes through beautiful forests of Oak and Rhododendrons. The magnificent views of mountains such as Mt. Fishtail, south Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Tukche are stunning. In the evening, you will observe a glorious sunset view from Mohare Danda station. After completing your sightseeing, get back to the eco-community management lodge.

Day 7Mohare Danda To Ghorepani Hiking Duration: 5 Hours

Wake up early in the morning to enjoy the sunrise and crystal clear views of the mountains. Mount Fishtail, Dhaulagiri II, Tukche, South Annapurna, Nilgiri, and other ranges are visible. Afterward, start your trek toward Deurali. Today your trail will lead you through the gradual ups and downs until you reach Ghorepani. It is about a 5-hour walk to reach Ghorepani from Mohare Danda. Upon arrival, check-in at the lodge and have a rest.

Day 8 Ghorepani To Ghandruk Village (1940 M) Via Poonhill (2853 M), Hiking Duration: 6/7 Hours

You will begin the trek to Poon Hill (3210m) in the early morning to catch the first ray of sunlight. The pleasant sunrise at the Poonhill trek will remain in your memories forever. Along with the sunrise view, you can witness the mount ranges of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. Then, you will return to Ghorepani for breakfast. After breakfast, start trekking to Ghandruk village. 
As the trail moves across a group of flatlands, forests, cultivated lands, and a suspension bridge over Khumbu Khola, you arrive at Ghandruk. The scenic & beautiful village of Ghandruk demands 6 to 7 hours of walk. A vantage point in this pristine village offers breathtaking views of mountain ranges. Several teahouses in the village give you a warm welcome with Nepalese hospitality. Camping in its terraced fields of Ghandruk gives you the feeling of wild adventure.

Day 9Trek To Nayapul & Drive To Pokhara (822 M), Hiking Duration: 4 Hours, Driving Duration: 45 Minutes

Today is the last day of our trek. After breakfast, you will descend to Nayapul for around 5 hours. Following the trail paved by stones; you will walk through beautiful terrace farmings. After crossing Modi Khola, you will reach Birethanti. Half an hour’s walk from Birethanti takes you to Nayapul. From there, our private vehicle will drive you. On reaching Pokhara, you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 10Pokhara – Kathmandu Drive Duration: 6-7 Hours

You will drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu. On the way, you can see the beautiful hills and slopes. Later, you can stroll through the streets of Thamel for shopping. You can also buy souvenirs for your friends and family.

Day 11 Sightseeing Tour Around Patan And Bhaktapur

Today, our guide will receive you and then drive you to Patan. You’ll be driven to one of the ancient cities inside Kathmandu Valley i.e. Patan Durbar Square. In Patan, you will be visiting other UNESCO World Heritage sites. We will visit Krishna Temple and Patan Durbar Square. Later on, visit the Patan Museum, where you can learn more about the history of Patan and the kings who reigned here. Later, visit the Golden Temple, a major attraction for both Hindu and Buddhist people. Then after, we will be visiting Bhaktapur. 

You will be amazed by the architecture of the place. Until today, the city has been able to be kept intact in its old form. You can observe the old wood-carved buildings all around Bhaktapur. We will visit the Nyatapola Temple, one of the biggest temples in Nepal. Here, you can also take the pottery-making class using traditional methods. You will visit Pottery Square. Here, you can also take the pottery-making class using traditional methods. Here, you will be taught to design your own pot. Once you have your basic shape hammered out, you can even choose to adorn your creation.

Day 12Departure

Your trip will come to an end today. First, you will be advised and assisted with your onward travel arrangements. Then, we shall transfer you to Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport. You will reach the airport 3 hours before your flight schedule.

My request to have close contact with the local communities, bring toys for public schools & families, as well as to enjoy a nice Himalaya trekking was perfectly met. ia Asian Heritage hebben we een 6-daagde trekking door de Himalaya met gids en porter gedaan. Het was een onvergetelijke tocht naar Mardi Himal waar je de meest fantastische uitzichten hebt. Gids Shiva en porter Gyan (aanraders!) zorgden ervoor dat alles perfect geregeld was. Naast dat het hele gezellige gasten zijn, zijn ze ook zeer deskundig en kunnen ze overal bij helpen. Onderweg slaap je in kampen, heerlijk primitief en back to basic, maar wordt er wel goed voor je gekookt ‘s avonds en ‘s ochtends voordat je weer aan de wandel gaat. De plaatselijke bevolking is enorm vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Asian Heritage zorgt niet alleen voor de overnachtingen, de gids en de porter, maar ook voor vervoer, slaapzakken en waar nodig extra kleding. Je gaat goed voorbereid op stap en hoeft eigenlijk alleen nog maar te genieten van al het moois dat je tegenkomt. Met als ultieme beloning de aankomst op de top van je trekking. Voor iedereen een keer een stukje Himalaya wil ontdekken, is dit een absolute aanrader!
