Nepal Bhutan Highlights tour package covers major sightseeing and adventurous destination from Nepal and Bhutan. The Nepal Bhutan Highlights tour starts with sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley. Then travel to Paro (Nepal to Bhutan).

This short Nepal Bhutan Highlights tour to the nation of “Bhutan” is designed for travelers who have been influenced by traditional Buddhism. Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m/4,593ft)

As you arrive, Asian Heritage Treks & Travel representative will welcome you at the Airport with your nameplate. Then, you shall immediately be transferred to the hotel. On the way to Hotel, you will pass by the Open cremation Place (Pashupatinath temple), Royal Palace Museum i.e. Narayanhity, and Garden Of Dream before you reach Thamel. Your hotel will be downtown at Touristic Hub. Our representative will facilitate you and discuss your travel itinerary. There will be enough time to stroll through the street of Thamel.

Day 2Sightseeing in Kathmandu

After Breakfast, our tour guide will pick you up along with the driver and a vehicle. Firstly you will visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, a UNESCO world heritage site where you can observe the typical wood-carved temples and buildings reflecting the ancient Kathmandu city. 
Afterward, we will head towards Swyambhunath- the monkey temple where you can observe the panoramic view of Kathmandu city. Then after, you will visit the Pashupatinath Temple, one of the biggest pilgrimage sites for the Hindu religion people in south-east Asia. You will explore the surroundings and observe the ritual body cremating ceremony process of the Hindu people. We can also visit another pilgrimage site nearby the Pashupatinath Temple i.e. Guweyswori Temple. 
Lastly, we will visit Boudhanath Stupa, another UNESCO world heritage site. The Stupa was built in 600 A.D. and is the only kind of Stupa that reflects Buddhism in the world. We shall explore the surroundings of Boudhanath Stupa. After completing our sightseeing, you can get back to the hotel and enjoy some rest.

Day 3Sightseeing in Patan and Bhaktapur

Today, our guide will receive you and then drive you to Patan for sightseeing. In Patan, you will be visiting other heritage like Krishna Temple and Patan Durbar Square. Later on, you will visit the Patan Museum, where you can learn more about the history of Patan and the kings. You also visit the Golden Temple and Banglamukhi Temple, a major attraction for both Hindu and Buddhist people.
Then after we will be visiting Bhaktapur where you will be amazed by the architecture. Observe the old wood-carved buildings all around Bhaktapur. Explore the surroundings and visit the Nyatapola Temple, the biggest temple in Nepal. Here, you can also take the pottery-making class using traditional methods. You will visit Pottery Square. You will be taught to design and adorn your pot with beautiful patterns and inscriptions.

Day 4Fly to Paro

Flying over the dragon kingdom and landing at Paro international airport is prodigious. Paro is a magnificent valley and home to monasteries, peaks, and temples. Peaks like Chomolhari and Jitchu Drake look magnificent. Then you will be welcomed upon your arrival. After arrival, we shall welcome you and drive to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. Then, you will check in to the hotel and spend overnight there.

Day 5Sightseeing in Thimphu

After breakfast, we shall visit the market that is open for 4 days a week (on Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday). We also visit the handmade paper mill, School of Arts and Crafts where students learn 13 different arts. Then, we drive past Memorial Chorten (temple) built in memory of the late 3rd King. We shall visit Changangkha Lhakhang, the oldest temple in the valley. We also visit an enclosure where the national animal is kept and a Zilukha Nunnery.

Day 6Thimpu-Punakha-Wangdi-Thimphu

Today we drive you to Punakha over the Dochu La pass at an altitude of 3,050 meters (10,000 ft). On the way, you will see more of the beautiful scenery Bhutan has to offer. Once at Punakha, visit Punakha Dzong, and settle down for lunch. After lunch, we visit Wangdi Dzong from the outside and drive to Thimphu.

Day 7Drive from Thimphu to Paro

After breakfast, drive through the Paro Valley to see the Drukgyel Dzong / Kyi-chu Lhakhang. On a clear day, one can see the Majestic Chomolhari. Also, visit the National Museum located in Ta Dzong. It displays a rich collection of fine arts and weapons.

Day 8Fly out from Paro-Kathmandu-Pokhara

In the morning, after breakfast, you will fly to Kathmandu. You can enjoy the spectacular view of the mountains from the window seat. Upon arrival, at Kathmandu, our guide shall assist you. Your flight onward to Pokhara will then be managed and shortly you will be flying to the beautiful city of Pokhara. You then check in to the hotel and can also stroll around the streets of Pokhara.

Day 9Pokhara Sightseeing

Today, you will be sightseeing the beautiful Pokhara. The enigmatic Davi’s Falls is a few minute’s drives away. The Pardi Khola, an outflow from Phewa Lake makes the fall. Devi’s Fall disappears into a mysterious cavern in the ground as it creates magnificent sprays. 
Another attraction is the Seti Gandaki River, which flows right through the heart of the town. The limestone in the soil gives the river its milky color. At certain spots, the Seti Gandaki runs completely underground. Several Tibetan settlements around Pokhara sell handicraft goods & Tibetan carpets. Moreover, we will visit Davi’s Waterfall, Gupteswor Mahadev,  and International Mountain Museum.

Day 10Pokhara Sightseeing II

Today, you begin with an early drive to Sarangkot. Here, we can capture the tranquil and magical view of the city before sunrise. The first rays of sunlight hitting the mountains in the background are magnificent. Further, Sarangkot offers panoramic views of the Annapurna, Fishtail, Dhaulagiri, and other mountains. 
Thereafter, we shall go boating at Fewa Lake and we shall hike towards Peace Stupa. Pokhara Shanti Stupa is a Buddhist pagoda-style monument located on Anadu Hill of Kaski. The boat trip crossing Phewa Lake from Pumdi Bhumdi Bay to Phewa Ghat lasts up to half an hour. It’s a good opportunity to enjoy the sight of Himalayan peaks reflecting on the water. It is also a relaxing way to end a hiking day and a panoramic loop at the World Peace Pagoda.

Day 11Drive to Lumbini

Today, we shall drive you to Lumbini. You will visit the SACRED GARDEN with the Mayadevi temple depicting the birth of Lord Buddha. You will witness the Ashoka pillar pinpointing the place of birth of the Buddha. You will also see a Sakyan Tank where Mayadevi, the mother of the Buddha is supposed to have taken a dip before bringing forth the baby. There are many other remnants of monasteries and Chaityas built over the centuries.

Day 12Lumbini Sightseeing and Drive to Chitwan

Today we shall visit Lumbini in the early morning. You will explore German Monastery, Chinese Monastery, Thai Monastery, International nuns, and the Golden Temple. Moreover, the Peaceful Monastic zone flourishes the teachings of Lord Buddha. Learn about the different cultures in different monastic zones of Lumbini. After finishing sightseeing, you will continue the journey to Chitwan. You will reach Chitwan in the early evening and check in to the hotel.

Day 13Activities in Chitwan

Today we shall first walk around the jungle of Chitwan. Then, we shall dive deep down into the forest in the local jeep to trace the footprints of the tiger. Further, get prepared for a glimpse of the one-horned rhino, Asian elephant, Spotted Deer (Chital), Barking Deer, Hog Deer, Samber, Swamp Deer, Black Buck, Bull, Wild Boar, Wild Dog, Leopard, and many other wild animals. After completing the jungle safari, we shall head for the canoe trip. You will canoe ride along the Rapti River. You will see the varieties of birds in the river along with the canoe trip.

Day 14Chitwan to Kathmandu

Today we shall drive back to Kathmandu. Later on, you can stroll through the street of the Thamel. You can buy gifts as a token of love for your friends and family. You can also rest in the hotel and pack your bags as this is the last day before you leave for your destination on the following day. This marks the end of the Nepal Bhutan Highlights tour.

Day 15Departure

Your trip will come to an end today. First, you will be advised and assisted with your onward travel arrangements. Then, we shall transfer you to Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport. You will reach the airport 3 hours before your flight schedule.
