Nepal Highlights with Halesi Tour It is a 12-day adventure that offers a unique and immersive experience of Nepal. This tour is perfect for those who want to explore the diverse cultural and natural beauty of Nepal. The tour will start in Kathmandu, where you can explore the UNESCO World Heritage Sites and soak in the rich history and culture of the city. The tour takes you to the remote and historic Halesi Mahadev Temple; it is the pilgrimage tour to the most sacred site of Nepal. Halesi Mahadev Temple lies in a cave, between the two holy rivers Dudh Koshi River and Sun Koshi River. Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Kathmandu

Welcome to Kathmandu Nepal, Asian Heritage Treks & travel representative welcomes you at the Airport with your nameplate.  After Arrival at Nepal airport, we will transfer you to the Hotel. On the way Airport to the Hotel, you will pass by the Pashupatinath Temple, Royal Palace Museum i.e. Narayanhiti, Garden of Dreams, and reach Thamel. Your hotel will be in the downtown of the Touristic Hub. Our representative will facilitate you and discuss your travel itinerary. There will be enough time to stroll through the streets of Thamel.

Day 2Sightseeing In Kathmandu (Kathmandu Durbar Square - Swyambhunath Stupa - Pashupatinath Temple - Boudhanath Stupa)

Visit the UNESCO World Heritage site, Kathmandu Durbar Square along with the tour guide in a private vehicle. Observe the typical wood-carved temples and buildings reflecting the ancient Kathmandu city.  After that, we will be heading towards Swayambhunath. The Monkey Temple is where you can observe the religious harmony and tolerance between the Buddhist religion and Hindu religions along with enjoying the panoramic view of Kathmandu city.

Visit the Pashupatinath Temple, one of the biggest pilgrimage sites for the Hindu religious people in South Asia. Explore the surroundings; observe the ritual body cremating ceremony process of the Hindu people at the bank of the holy Bagmati river. Then visit another pilgrimage site nearby the Pashupatinath Temple known as Guweyswori Temple.

Explore the surroundings and then you will go to visit another UNESCO World Heritage site Boudhanath Stupa. It was built in 600 A.D. and is one of a kind of stupa reflecting Buddhism in the world. Explore the surroundings of Boudhanath Stupa and after completing your sightseeing get back to the hotel and rest.

Kathmandu valley

Day 3Drive from Kathmandu to Halesi Mahadev Temple (Distance: 225 km, Driving Duration: 8 Hours)

After breakfast, you will start your journey towards the Haleshi Mahadev Temple, located in the Khotang district of Nepal. You will drive for approximately 8 hours, passing through beautiful countryside and small villages on the way. Finally, after several hours of travel, you’ll arrive at Halesi Mahadev Temple; it is the pilgrimage tour to the most sacred site of Nepal.

Halesi Mahadev is the most popular temple also known as Pashupatinath in the Eastern region. It is the pilgrimage for both Hindus and Buddhists residing in and outside Nepal. Day 4Visit Halesi Temple and Drive to Janakpur (Distance: 215 km, Driving duration: 6-7Hours)

Visiting the Halesi Mahadev Temple is a unique and spiritual experience that is sure to leave a lasting impression on any visitor. After several hours of travel, you’ll arrive in Janakpur, a city that is steeped in history and religious significance. Janakpur is home to the Janaki Mandir, a temple dedicated to the Hindu goddess Sita, who is believed to have been born in the city.

The temple is one of the most revered sites in Nepal and attracts thousands of pilgrims every year. In addition to the Janaki Mandir, Janakpur is also home to several other important temples and historical landmarks. The city is known for its rich cultural heritage and is an excellent place to explore Nepali culture and history.

Day 5Janakpur to Chitwan (Distance: 250 km, Driving Duration: 7 Hours

After breakfast at the lodge, we will drive towards Chitwan, a beautiful city located in the southern part of Nepal. It’s about 250 km away from Janakpur and the drive takes approximately 7 hours through the beautiful countryside, passing by small towns and farms. Once we reach Chitwan, we will check in to the hotel and take some rest. Later in the evening, we will enjoy the cultural program showcasing the traditional dances and music of the Tharu community, followed by dinner.

Day 6Activities in Chitwan

Start your whole day sightseeing tour. Firstly, you will have a Jungle Safari by Jeep. You will enter the community forest section to view the One-Horned Rhino and some other wild animals like wild boar, deer, Leopard and others. After that, you will cross the Rapti River to get into the skirt of the main national park area.

If it’s your lucky day then you will get to see the Royal Bengal Tiger in the highland area where the bushes are as high as 5-6 feet. Along with that, you will be able to see wild elephants and other wild animals as well. After completing your jungle safari tour get back to the hotel and have your lunch. Later on, you can go for a guided tour around the Tharu village.

You will go Canoeing on the Rapti River where you can observe the Marsh Mugger and Gharial crocodiles resting by the side of the Rapti River in Chitwan. After completing your sightseeing tour, get back to the hotel and have a rest.

Day 7Chitwan to Lumbini on the way visit (Distance: 165km, Driving Duration: 6-7 Hours)

In the morning, we will have a bird watching and after breakfast at the hotel, we will drive towards Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. The drive takes approximately 6-7 hours, passing by small towns, farms, and hills. On the way,   you will stop at Devgaht, which is home to various temples and caves dedicated to Hindu gods, goddesses, and saints including Goddess Sita’s cave.

Bird Watching in Chitwan

Day 8Lumbini visit & drive to Pokhara (Distance: 210km, Driving Duration: 7-8 Hours)

In the morning after having your breakfast we will visit the highlights of Lumbini such as; the Sacred Garden, Maya Devi Temple, and the Ashoka Pillar, the historical landmarks of Buddhism.

After sightseeing in Lumbini, we will leave for Pokhara, which is about 7-8 hours drive from Lumbini. Upon arrival, we will check in at the hotel and have some rest. In the evening, we can take a stroll around the famous Phewa Lake and enjoy the stunning views of the Annapurna mountain range.

Day 9Sightseeing in Pokhara

Today, you will start with an early drive to capture the tranquil and magical view of the city before sunrise. You will view the first rays of sunlight hitting the mountains in the background. Sarangkot offers panoramic views of the Annapurna, Fishtail, Dhaulagiri, and other mountains. 
You will be visiting the World Peace Stupa which is almost an hour far away from Pokhara and lies on the top of the hill. After reaching over there, you will get to see the spectacular panoramic views of the mountains on your north and west.

Annapurna, Nilgiri, Glacier Dome, Fishtail Mountain, and the Dhaulagiri mountain ranges can be seen from this place. After enjoying this view, you will visit Devi’s Fall, Gupteswor Cave, Seti George, Mahendra Cave, Mountain Museum, and the Tibetan Refugee camp, BarahiTemple; situated at the center of Phewa Lake. After completing your sightseeing, get back to the hotel and have a rest.

Day 10Drive back from Pokhara to Kathmandu. (Distance: 220km Driving duration 6-7 hours)

Today you will have a scenic drive back to Kathmandu, starting from Pokhara after having your breakfast. You can stop at Kurintar and take a cable car to visit Manakamana temple, about 10 minutes cable car ride from a station you will be at the Manakamana temple; it is a Hindu temple dedicated to goddess Bhagwati, an incarnation of Parvati’ who is believed to have the power to fulfill wishes. After visiting this site again you will be back by cable car to Kurintar and continue driving towards Kathmandu. Upon arrival at Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your respective hotel and have a rest.

Day 11Sightseeing Tour around Patan and Bhaktapur

Today, you will explore two ancient cities near Kathmandu: Patan and Bhaktapur.

In Patan, your itinerary includes visits to UNESCO World Heritage sites like the Krishna Temple and Patan Durbar Square. Next, explore the Patan Museum to delve deeper into the history of this city and the reign of its kings. Then, proceed to the Golden Temple, a significant attraction for both Hindus and Buddhists, as well as the Banglamukhi Temple.

In Bhaktapur, you will be captivated by its well-preserved architectural marvels that have maintained their historical charm. Marvel at the intricately carved wooden buildings throughout Bhaktapur before moving on to another UNESCO World Heritage Site, Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Take your time to explore the surroundings and then visit the Nyatopola Temple, one of Nepal’s largest temples. After completing your sightseeing, return to Kathmandu and enjoy some well-deserved rest.

In the evening, Perhaps you can explore the vibrant streets of Thamel for some shopping and local cuisine

Patan

Day 12Departure

Your trip will come to an end today. You will be advised and assisted with your onward travel arrangements and transfer to Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport by private transport around 3 hours before your flight schedule and flight back to your home/other travel destination. Have a safe journey onwards.
