Itinerary

DAY 1Arrival In Kathmandu

Welcome To Kathmandu Nepal!
As you arrive, Asian Heritage Treks & Travel representative will welcome you at the Airport with your nameplate. Then, you shall immediately be transferred to the hotel. On the way to Hotel, you will pass by the Open cremation Place (Pashupatinath Temple), and the Royal Palace Museum i.e. Narayanhiti, Garden of Dreams before you reach Thamel. Your hotel will be downtown at Touristic Hub. Our representative will facilitate you and discuss your travel itinerary. There will be enough time to stroll through the street of Thamel.

DAY 2Sightseeing In Kathmandu: Kathmandu Durbar Square - Swyambhunath Stupa - Pashupatinath Temple - Boudhanath Stupa

After Breakfast, Our tour guide will pick you up along with the driver and a vehicle. Firstly you will visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, a UNESCO world heritage site where you can observe the typical wood-carved temples and buildings reflecting the ancient Kathmandu city. Afterward, we will head towards Swyambhunath- the monkey temple where you can observe the panoramic view of Kathmandu city.
Then after, you will visit the Pashupatinath Temple, one of the biggest pilgrimage sites for the Hindu religion people in south-east Asia. You will explore the surroundings and observe the ritual body cremating ceremony process of the Hindu people. We can also visit another pilgrimage site nearby the Pashupatinath Temple i.e. Guweyswori Temple.
Lastly, we will visit Boudhanath Stupa, another UNESCO world heritage site. The stupa was built in 600 A.D. and is the only one of kind of Stupa which reflects Buddhism in the world. We shall explore the surroundings of Bouddhanath Stupa. After completing our sightseeing, you can get back to the hotel and enjoy some rest.

DAY 3Sightseeing In Patan And Bhaktapur.

Early morning, our tour guide will pick you up from the hotel. Firstly, we will be visiting Patan Durbar Square, a UNESCO world heritage site. Here, we can observe typical wood-carved temples and buildings.
Then we can head towards Bhaktapur Durbar Square. It’s the last of three Durbar Square we will be visiting during our tour. We will also visit a 5-storied temple and Dattatreya Mandir. After that, we will be sightseeing the Changu Narayan Temple; the oldest temple in Nepal. It is a famous pilgrimage site for the Hindu religion people. After we explore the surroundings, we will drive back to the hotel and enjoy some rest hotel and rest.

DAY 4Fly To Lhasa (3650 m)

On the fourth day of the Nepal Tibet Highlights Tour, we fly to Lhasa. Upon arrival, our Tibet agent will welcome you to Lhasa Gonggar Airport (LXA). Then you shall be transferred to the hotel by a private vehicle. Lhasa is situated on the north bank of the Kyi-chu River. Kyi Chu means “Place of the Gods” in Tibet. For the rest of the day, let your body acclimatize to the higher altitude.

DAY 5Visit Drepung Monastery & Sera Monastery

After breakfast, we will drive to Drepung Monastery. It is suited 8 Km west of Lhasa and is said to be the largest monastery in the world, housing over 10,000 monks. Drepung in Tibetan means “Richmond”. We will also visit the Sera Monastery which is sprawl with golden roofs and whitewashed walls. It was founded in the fifteenth century and is well-preserved to date. The monastery is suited just a few miles north of Lhasa at the foot of Tatipu Hill in the northern suburb of Lhasa City. It’s home to several hundred monks.

There’s also a restored monastery that sits below the brow of the hill where Tsongkhapa has been built. It is famous for debating activities occurring between 3 to 4 pm and is a daily routine.

DAY 6Lhasa Sightseeing

Today you will visit Jokhang Temple situated in the heart of Old Lhasa. It houses Tibet’s most precious religious relic, a golden Shakyamuni Buddha. It is the most respected shrine in Tibet bustling with spiritual worshipers. The temple is the ultimate pilgrimage destination for Tibetan Pilgrims. Surrounding the Jokhang Temple, there’s a Barkhor Marketplace. Barkhor Marketplace is the religious and social focus of Lhasa. You can do some shopping in the Barkhor market- a Tibetan crowded city center.

Barkhor Street is a magical place showing the original outlook of Lhasa visitors. It is paved by hand-polished stone boards. Later in the day, we will be visiting the Potala Palace; a legendary palace built atop a single hill. This palace is Lhasa’s cardinal landmark and is a wonder of Eastern architecture. The Palace is composed of two parts, the Red Palace at the center and the White Palace at the sides.

DAY 7Drive From Lhasa To Shigatse (3900 m) Travel Duration: 5 To 6 Hours

In the morning, after breakfast, we will drive from Lhasa to Shigatse. First, we will drive over the Gampala pass (4790 m) for a glimpse of Yamdrok-Tso Lake (4400 m). The lake is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and offers spectacular views of Holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar (7191 m). It’s the highest mountain near Lhasa.

Later, we pass by the Korola Glacier on the roadside. At Manak Dam Lake, you can hang the prayer flag. Then, we will arrive at Gyantse. Historically, Gyantse is Tibet’s third-largest city (after Lhasa and Shigatse). In Gyantse, we will visit the famous Pelkor Monastery and GyantseKumbum and also enjoy the Far view of Gyangtse Fortress. After some time, we will reach Shigatse, which is the second-largest city in Tibet.

DAY 8Sightseeing To Lhasa Via Gyantse

On the eighth day of the Nepal Tibet Highlights Tour, we drive back to Lhasa via Gyantse. You can stand on the viewing platform and view the vast Yalong Riverbed. Finally, we reached Lhasa. Upon reaching Lhasa, check in to your hotel and have a rest.

DAY 9Lhasa To Kathmandu & Pokhara Flight

Today we will have a flight from Lhasa to Kathmandu. After you get back to Kathmandu, our representative will pick you up at the airport. After that, we will arrange flights to Pokhara. With the hawk’s eye view of the capital from the sky, you will be leaving for Pokhara, the beautiful and touristic city. You will then be transferred to your hotel and can rest. You can also stroll around the streets of Pokhara if you want.

DAY 10Pokhara Sightseeing

Today, you will be sightseeing the beautiful Pokhara. The enigmatic Davi’s Falls is a few minute’s drive away. The Pardi Khola, an outflow from Phewa Lake makes the fall. Devi’s Fall disappears into a mysterious cavern in the ground as it creates magnificent sprays. Another attraction is the Seti Gandaki River, which flows right through the heart of the town. The limestone in the soil gives the river its milky color. At certain spots, the Seti Gandaki runs completely underground. Several Tibetan settlements around Pokhara sell handicraft goods & Tibetan carpets. Today we will visit Davi’s Waterfall, Gupteswor Mahadev, and the International Mountain Museum.

DAY 11Pokhara Sightseeing II

Today, you begin with an early drive to Sarangkot. Here, we can capture the tranquil and magical view of the city before sunrise. The first rays of sunlight hitting the mountains in the background are magnificent. Sarangkot offers panoramic views of the Annapurna, Fishtail, Dhaulagiri, and other mountains. Thereafter, we will go boating at Fewa Lake and we will hike towards Peace Stupa. Pokhara Shanti Stupa is a Buddhist pagoda-style monument located on Anadu Hill of Kaski. The boat trip crossing Phewa Lake from PumdiBhumdi Bay to Phewa Ghat lasts up to half an hour. It’s a good opportunity to enjoy the sight of Himalayan peaks reflecting on the water. It is also a relaxing way to end a hiking day and a panoramic loop at the World Peace Pagoda.

DAY 12 Drive To Lumbini, Driving Duration: 6/7 Hours

Today, we will drive you to Lumbini. You will visit the sacred garden with the Mayadevi temple depicting the birth of Lord Buddha. You will witness the Ashoka pillar pinpointing the place of birth of the Buddha. You will also see a Sakyan Tank where Mayadevi, the mother of the Buddha is supposed to have taken a dip before bringing forth the baby. There are many other remnants of monasteries and Chaityas built over the centuries.

DAY 13Lumbini Sightseeing And Chitwan Drive

Today we will visit Lumbini in the early morning. You will explore German Monastery, Chinese Monastery, Thai Monastery, International nuns, and the Golden Temple. The Peaceful Monastic zone flourishes the teachings of Lord Buddha. Learn about the different cultures in different monastic zones of Lumbini. After finishing sightseeing, you will continue the journey to Chitwan. You will reach Chitwan in the early evening and check in to the hotel.

DAY 14Chitwan Activities

Today we will first walk around the jungle of Chitwan. Then, we will dive deep down into the forest in the local jeep to trace the footprints of the tiger. Get prepared for a glimpse of the one-horned rhino, Asian elephant, Spotted Deer (Chital), Barking Deer, Hog Deer, Samber, Swamp Deer, Black Buck, Bull, Wild Boar, Wild Dog, Leopard, and many other wild animals. After completing the jungle safari, we will head for the canoe trip. You will canoe ride along the Rapti River. You will see the varieties of birds in the river along with the canoe trip.

DAY 15Chitwan – Kathmandu Drive Duration: 6-7 Hours

Today we will drive back to Kathmandu. Later on, you can stroll through the street of the Thamel for buying gifts as a token of love for your friends and family. Else you can rest at the hotel and pack your belongings as this is your last day before you fly out to your destination the upcoming day. This marks the end of the Nepal Tibet Highlights Tour.

DAY 16Departure

Your trip will come to an end today. First, you will be advised and assisted with your onward travel arrangements. Then, we shall transfer you to Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport. You will reach the airport 3 hours before your flight schedule.
