Discover the history and culture of Nepal as your rickshaw puller takes you through the narrow streets. You’ll see famous spots like the Hanuman Dhoka Palace, Kumari Ghar, and Basantapur Tower, the local market, and the local lifestyle as your rickshaw driver pedals through Kathmandu’s old, narrow streets. Enjoy the lively atmosphere, explore hidden areas, and admire the beautiful buildings and carvings.

This package is for those who wish to explore the narrow roads (locally known as Gulli) spread across Kathmandu Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and its nearby areas. Don’t forget your camera to capture the memories of this unique and memorable rickshaw tour.

The tour will start from the colorful tourist hub of Thamel and pass buzzing market squares as you head to Durbar Square, where you’ll spend time exploring on foot. After exploring, hop back on the rickshaw for your return ride to Thamel.

  • You can also extend your ride to Patan Durbar Square and other sites such as Swayambhunath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, etc. (extra cost apply)

Day 1Rickshaw Ride around Kathmandu Durbar Square

Your tour will start from the colorful tourist hub of Thamel and pass buzzing market squares as you head to Durbar Square, It’s a famous UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with palaces, temples, and courtyards. Hop into a rickshaw and explore the lively streets, passing by impressive landmarks like the Hanuman Dhoka Palace and the Kumari Ghar, home to the living goddess Kumari. Your rickshaw driver will take you through narrow alleys, allowing you to see beautiful temples like Kasthamandap, known for its intricate woodwork. You’ll spend some time exploring on. After exploring, hop back on the rickshaw for your return ride to Thamel.
