It also has a short hiking experience into the mountain (Dhampus), and the tour concludes with a some-day yoga retreat at Nepal Yoga Academy. This highlight tour is a perfect introduction to this fascinating and attractive land. The tour will offer you a first-hand visitor experience and many discovery opportunities. Foremost, the varied forms of the cultural heritage of Nepal are reflected in the form of arts, sculptures, architecture, and many more ancient objects.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival

Welcome to Kathmandu, Nepal! An Asian Heritage Treks & Travel representative will welcome you at the airport with your nameplate. After your arrival at the Nepal airport, we will transfer you to the hotel. Our representative will facilitate and discuss your travel itinerary.

Includes: private transport and an overnight stay at Valley Guest House in Boudhanath.

Day 2Sightseeing in Kathmandu and Transfer to Nagi Gumba

Today, you’ll embark on a captivating journey to Kathmandu’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites. A private vehicle and an expert guide will accompany you. First, you will visit the Pashupatinath Temple, a paramount Hindu pilgrimage site in South Asia. Here, you’ll witness the sacred cremation rituals along the holy Bagmati River.

After visiting Pashupatinath, you will drive to Kathmandu Durbar Square, which unveils its ancient charm, showcasing exquisite wood-carved temples and historic edifices. Onwards, drive to witness the fusion of Buddhism and Hinduism’s spiritual coexistence at Swyambhunath while soaking in Kathmandu’s panoramic vistas.

Later, you will drive to Nagi Gumba, which is a Buddhist monastery on Shivapuri Hill dedicated to the nuns. Here, both locals and foreigners practice meditation. The fluttering prayer flags and the nuns chatting and working in the neighborhood will immediately identify the monastery. Today’s adventure promises a profound cultural experience and spiritual insights in the heart of Kathmandu.

Day 3Nagi Gumba to Thamel

On the third day of 16-Day Nepal Highlights Tour With Yoga Classes, you will participate in a ceremony at Nagi Gumba. After lunch, you will hike down to Mohan Pokhari and then proceed to Thamel by private transport.

Day 4Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara

Today, we will drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara by tourist coach. On the way, you can enjoy the greenery of the beautiful hills. Pokhara is rich in its pure and intact natural beauty. Just imagine the joy of observing the shadow of the Himalayas reflecting on Fewa Lake. The valley is equally outstanding, with elevated close-ups of the snowy peaks. Pokhara is famous for sightseeing, mountain views, and many adventurous outdoor activities.

Day 5Sightseeing in Pokhara

Today, you will start with an early drive to Sarangkot to capture the tranquil and magical view of the city before sunrise. You will see the first rays of sunlight hitting the mountains in the background. Sarangkot offers panoramic views of Annapurna, Fishtail, Dhaulagiri, and other mountains. Later, get back to the hotel and have breakfast.

After having breakfast, you will be visiting the World Peace Stupa, which is almost an hour away from Pokhara and lies on the top of the hill. When you reach the top of the hill, you will get to see the spectacular panoramic views of the mountains on your north and west sides. Annapurna, Nilgiri, Glacier Dome, Fishtail Mountain, and the Dhaulagiri mountain ranges can be seen from this place.

After enjoying this view, you will visit Devi’s Fall, Gupteswor Cave, Seti George, Mahendra Cave, and Barahi Temple, situated at the center of Phewa Lake. When you complete the sightseeing, get back to the hotel and take a rest.

Day 6Drive to Phedi, Trek to Dhampus

On the sixth day of your 16-Day Nepal Highlights Tour With Yoga Classes, we will take a scenic 30-minute drive from Pokhara towards Phedi. From Phedi, you will start walking. At the beginning, walk uphill, and it’s not totally climbing the hill; the trails are wide. Slowly, an hour’s uphill walk will take you to Dhampus village, where you will walk through villages with stunning mountain views. Dhampus village is at 1600m above sea level and in the paradise of Nepal. You will walk for around three hours from the starting point.

You will spend a night with very charming and friendly Gurung people. Dhampus village is pretty famous for the yoga trek. If you are wondering about yoga and meditation in the lower part of the Himalayas, then Dhampus is the right place.

Day 7Dhampus to Pokhara and Pokhara School Visit

After breakfast and enjoying the sunrise, we will hike back to Phedi and then drive back to Pokhara. In the afternoon, you’ll have the opportunity to visit city’s schools. Once the school visit is complete, return to the hotel to relax and rest.

Day 8Drive from Pokhara to Chitwan (6-7-hour drive)

After a filling breakfast, you will embark on a scenic, touristic coach drive to Chitwan. The journey will take you through picturesque landscapes, with the majestic Himalayas as your backdrop. Upon your arrival in Chitwan, check-in at the hotel and take some time to rest. Later, you can explore the local market and streets in the area. In the evening, you will have the opportunity to attend the Tharu cultural program show. Enjoy the program, and after it, return to the hotel.

Days 9-10Activities in Chitwan

Start your whole-day sightseeing tour. Firstly, you will have a jungle safari by Jeep. You will enter the community forest section to view the one-horned rhino and other wild animals like wild boar, deer, leopard, etc. After that, you will cross the Rapti River to get into the skirt of the main national park area. If it’s your lucky day, then you will get to see the Royal Bengal Tiger in the highland area, where the bushes are as high as 5–6 feet. Along with that, you will be able to see wild elephants and other wild animals as well.

After completing your jungle safari tour, get back to the hotel and have your lunch. Later on, you can go for a guided tour around the Tharu village. You will go canoeing on the Rapti River, where you can observe the Marsh Mugger and Gharial crocodiles resting by the side of the Rapti River in Chitwan. After completing your sightseeing tour, get back to the hotel and have a rest.

Day 11Drive to Kathmandu

You will have breakfast and check out of the hotel. Continuing your trip, you will be heading towards Kathmandu by tourist bus. Kathmandu is in the southwest direction of Chitwan and approximately 150–160 kilometers away. Along the way, you will come across numerous small shops and a mini-market. Once you reach Kathmandu, you will transfer to the hotel.

Day 12Drive to Nepal Yoga Academy

After having your breakfast, you will drive to the Nepal Yoga Academy (Sankhu, between Kathmandu and Nagarkot). This institute is a true yoga and spiritual learning center based on classical, spiritual, and scientific research situated in the lap of the natural beauty of the lush Himalayan forest. It focuses on authentic teaching, practice, and research based on the traditional scientific yogic way.

When you check-in, you will be welcomed with tea, and after some time, a delicious vegetarian meal will arrive. Then it will be your relaxation massage time to leave all your stress behind. After the massage, enjoying a peaceful time in the garden is like the cherry on top. Later on, you can also enjoy a steam bath. Now you are ready for some yoga and meditation. Let your body experience the yogic asanas and feed meditation to your mind before you go for a restful night.

Days 13-15Yoga Retreat Classes

You will be joining several yoga activities for these three days, such as:

Yogic Practices: You will start the morning with a beautiful view and experience of nature, followed by Jala Neti. Although it is an optional activity, many people choose to participate because it prepares them for pranayama, the day’s next activity. After pranayama, you will be doing ancient yoga practices.

Breakfast and relaxation: The morning activities might make you hungry, but the good news is that you will have a delicious breakfast. After breakfast, you will have some time to relax and recharge yourself for the day.

Ayurvedic pampering with lunch in between: It’s time for Ayurvedic treatments like Shirodhara, oil massage, or relaxation massage. After the massage, a Sattvik meal will be waiting for you on the table. The most-needed Ayurvedic sauna is next, along with some personal relaxation time.

Second Round of Yogic Practices: In the evening, yoga asanas and meditation. Strive, stretch, strengthen, and breathe into a meditative state.

Dinner and Relaxation: Indulge in an appetizing dinner and relax for the day. Have a good night’s sleep!

Day 16Departure

On the last day of your 16-Day Nepal Highlights Tour with Yoga Classes, our representative will pick you up with a private van and drop you off at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport approximately three hours before your scheduled flight back to your home or other destination.
