Day 5Acclimatization day

The fifth day of Lobuche peak with Everest Base Camp trek is the day set aside for acclimatization. Health experts recommend that you stay active and move around even during the rest day instead of being idle. There are a few options set aside for this day. You can either stroll around Namche or rest. Namche Bazaar is also known as the Sherpa Capital. You can use your time to acclimatize, relax and explore the surrounding places. Most of the trekkers prefer to get up before sunrise to view the magnificent views of Mount Everest, Thamserku, Amadablam and other glorious peaks from the Sagarmatha National Park. One can get a chance to observe the shadow of the mountains being projected onto the clouds above and truly appreciate their magnitude. As an energy supplier, one should try salt-butter tea and Champa – a kind of barley often consume by the Sherpas in the region.
